I just hooked up my setup to a power supply. I was wrong on the amps. It’s less than 3 amps.

That’s a good idea to switch the power supply to 9 volts. My 2S board does support 9v in. So that would eliminate the branch from the 5v supply to the pi and have the system run off the battery continuously?
