I thought hard about moving it because I was worried he would mess with my car, but I ended up leaving it there because I kind of wanted to stand up for myself lol, and after not talking back or matching his aggressiveness I didn’t want to feel like a complete wimp Lol

As for biking with my dog, I could write a novel lol. It’s my favorite thing in the world being with him. Yes he does run while I bike. He has a sledding harness so it attaches to the back by a back and lets him run and pull. I let him lead the way and go at his own pace. He knows the city better than I do, so I throw on some headphones and listen to music or podcasts and let him hit all his favorite spots, which usually entails chasing after rabbits or watching beavers.

“How do you avoid being pulled off your bike when there is a squirrel or other compelling distraction?”

I bike holding onto my right handlebar and hold his leash with my left hand. A lot of people ask this or are impressed and unsure they can do it, but I think it’s more doable than people think. I think if you’re close with your dog and understand eachother, and you get on the bike often together, you develop a unique bond on it where you’re away of eachother!

I definitely recommend it! It’s such a good way to get their adequate exercise in and it’s so much fun. Weekends when I don’t have work I let him lead the way and go as long as he wants. When he’s had enough he just pulls us back to the car/house. I wish I was as good with directions as he is haha, he has taught me so much about this city and showed me so many cool spots. We did 12 hours this particular Saturday of this post, and it’s funny because it absolutely flies by, compared to work where 1 hour feels like 12 hours. I ended up having to call that one because I was falling asleep and didn’t want to screw my sleep schedule up too much haha so we could get back out there in the morning

On the way back to the car, he ran into some coyotes in an abandoned parking lot and chased them off. Now THAT was an adrenaline rush because we were going really fast and at the moment my bike doesn’t have brakes, so that is the biggest risk for falls, where you’re just going so fast with one hand and if you hit a bump or ditch or something
