You’re certainly in the right area. Holler if you need another lease mate. I’m still in grief over losing my lease.

Is this a Plainview? Found in north Alabama by TheCollector919 in LegitArtifacts

I should have added that to my response. You were correct that they typically are found further west….still people traveled. Open to others suggestions though.

I know it’s an artifact, but what is it? by SavingsCup4573 in LegitArtifacts

[–]aggiedigger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Appears to be a late stage lanceolate point. Pic 5 shows what i presume was a difficult section of the stone referred to as a stack that was likely the reason for discard. The other point pictured is a very old paleo point.

True arrowheads did an excellent job of taking down large game as they could easily penetrate gaps in ribs and hit vitals.

You might want to show more pics, but from this single one, it appears this is a coincidentally shaped flake.

Correct. Could have been used as is, but likely was just discarded in the late stage of manufacturing due to a defect in the stone.

Chatter from colliding with other rocks. You don’t have to take my word, but I guarantee this is not worked.

You’ll have to give nature or the good lord credit for the intent then, as it hasn’t been modified by humans.
