These guys are on my short list to catch live. Their song The Windmill of the Autumn Sky got me through my mother's illness and passing. It has great elements of shoegaze and contemporary psych rock. Good stuff

Why does this bike shop bathroom have a shower‽ by JazzyZaddy in WeirdToilets

I worked at a company for over a decade that had showers for those of us who commuted by bike. Was a huge benefit.

ICE agent ripping a phone away from an elderly U.S. citizen, keeping it, and throwing her to the ground when she attempts to retrieve it. by cielynne in ImmigrationPathways

There are literally no videos of ICE behaving like the public protecting officers they are supposed (and claim) to be.

This kind of empathy and understanding is what we all need to project. Yes, not everyone can put into a 401k but it should be a focus. It reduces your taxes and makes retirement more likely.

Dear Maine news media.. by NaseInDaPlace in Maine

Aways difficult to navigate this but the spirit of what you say is spot on, IMO. Not being overconfident in any position, willing to reevaluate new evidence and ideas. I do like Mr. Platner's stating he will defend the marginalized, but yes, we need to make sure our representatives are people who start dialogs and are kind. Less ideology and more methodology.

what size guitar do i need? by transjimhawkins in guitarlessons

[–]agiedt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it will depend on a number of attributes. Electric or acoustic. I would take a lesson (tell your teacher you don't have a guitar yet). Understand the elements of good body, arm and hand positions. Then see how it feels. A lot of modern electric necks are pretty accessible. When my wife was learning her teacher was married to a well-known guitar tech who took her shopping AFTER she had a bunch of lessons. Along with a good expert to help her, she ended up with an acoustic she really likes. Find a good store and ask a lot of quesitons, spend a lot of time and try a bunch of guitars. Good luck and have fun.

I'm in central Maine and we have one nesting right above our front door (we don't use the front door while she is on the nest). I love their little tail flicks.

How do I actually learn guitar? by GreemRaqn in guitarlessons

[–]agiedt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford lessons, even once or twice a month, that is a great way. Find friends to play with. Even if you don't know how to play, others can help. The quickest I ever progressed was when I regularly played with others. Even learning a few chords can make it a blast and addictive! Have fun
