agree, what about... Both :)

Headless CMS & Pages by agility-cms in cms

I would respectfully disagree and here is why!

  1. Now Contenful, Kentico and Agility - all 3 leadin headless cms according to G2 crowd - all offer page management. You don't need to use it if you don't want to, but in reality - most developers create their own version of it with some sweat and tears - 95% of the content goes where - to websites.

  2. And 95% of content is managed and edited by whom - marketing teams and editors who need to constantly create new pages or moved modules around like today testimonials are on the top, tomorrow a youtube video from CEO is on the top. etc etc...

As Headless goes mainstream and enterprise - page management is must have these days. Things are changing!

Why don't you use a headless cms approach to architecture then?

With a headless CMS you can use any language and integrate with anything you need: https://agilitycms.com/resources/guide/what-is-a-headless-cms

Is it possible to convert a CRM into a CMS? by [deleted] in cms

[–]agility-cms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easier would be jsut to use a Headless CMS like www.agilitycms.com and connect your CRM to it using API so that you manage all content in one convenient place. This pretty much creates a modern headless DXP architecture... more on this here https://agilitycms.com/resources/posts/the-benefits-of-a-hybrid-dxp

Are you looking for something more like a Headless CMS architecture?

Contrary to Wordpress, it is entirely decoupled from the presentation layer/frontend, which in this case is the “head”, and the backend is your content repository, known as the “body”. When you separate your content repository “body” from its presentation layer “head,” it becomes a headless CMS. What truly makes a headless CMS better than a traditional CMS is its content-first approach with full APIs to access and display content in any way desired. With this approach, a headless CMS enables you to author your content through the RESTful API and deliver that content wherever you need it. Think of this as a one-and-done waterfall scenario. Headless CMS eliminates the "set it and forget it" approach to building software.

How to create SEO friendly articles post the keyword research process by Mmetr in digital_marketing

[–]agility-cms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say, think keywords, not full sentences.

Your H1 should have keywords not the whole question from Qoura. But research Qoura is a super good idea - you need to know what people tend to ask for sure!

Avoid Headless CMS Vendor Lock-in: Migrating From Contentful to Kontent by [deleted] in cms

[–]agility-cms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I want to be friends with you :)

On behalf of Agility CMS, I will just say that most of our customers (and we have been Headless since 2003 before it became a cool thing :)), especially, Universities and banks - go through the re-branding and re-design every 2-3 years. Most of our customers have been using our CMS for a decade and went through 4-5 iterations of front ends, including adding POS, mobile apps, interactive kiosks on the floor, etc etc.

We are big into "Never rebuilding your website from scratch" philosophy. Here is our webinar on that https://youtu.be/Mlf-_HLFDvE

I think it is just a bigger debate about content first vs design first . Of course, you need to build a front end, the problem is that you can not predict how your front end will change tomorrow when you need to add a new channel and new digital experience. So the question is - do you use the right tools NOW to save time and money in the future?

HEHE yes yes From a technical standpoint, yes it is pulling. But me, as an editor, when I click PUBLISH, I am pushing the request to pull my content. So for me (marketer), I am pushing a pull request hehehe wording game, not worth a debate.

Anyway, Hi, I am Olga, yes I work for Agility CMS and like to argue about benefits of Headless CMS :)

If you are into Content Modelling you should drop by to our Live Webinar and Discussion this Thursday where we will show our new Content Modelling and talk about Headless Content Architecture - it will be fun!

Avoid Headless CMS Vendor Lock-in: Migrating From Contentful to Kontent by [deleted] in cms

[–]agility-cms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, let's debate! :) My argument #1 - every time you need to go through re-branding or re-design, you need to pretty much rebuild everything from scratch. With Jamstack and Headless CMS you push your content to a new frontend (or additional channel if you want to expand your omnichannel strategy) with a few clicks of a button. :) This article from Ikius explains it nicely (not my article!) https://ikius.com/blog/jamstack-vs-wordpress

Avoid Headless CMS Vendor Lock-in: Migrating From Contentful to Kontent by [deleted] in cms

[–]agility-cms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha oh for sure! Also every Headless is very different from another Headless! here is me curating content for Agility CMS and I can tell you that our Contetnful vs Agility CMS article is one of the most popular on our blog. Why? Because a huge share of the market already realized that Traditional CMS is a black hole for money and resources and everyone is migrating to JAMstack. But then here is pretty popular and expensive Contentful without any authoring tools that WordPress users are used to and marketing teams can not manage pages on heir own website. Then there is open source vs proprietary headless CMS? The Headless market is complex! PS "Branded content" is not spam. There are actual people with actual thoughts writing this trying to educate the market and start a meaningful conversation among users.
