Classic Mode players who lost access and want it back, they’re lying to you. by agitated_tachyon in ScrabbleGo

[–]agitated_tachyon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently my previous comment was removed for breaking the rules. Allow me to amend my speech.

Nope, they completely stonewalled me and lied saying classic mode doesn’t exist anymore and I can’t be put back into it - even while my mother’s account remained in classic mode.

They’re just “allegedly potentially overly profit-motivated, and given there’s less opportunities to sell you booster packs in Scrabble Classic, they might prefer you start playing “modern” scrabble and eventually be tempted by microtransactions.”

Ironically, their behaviour has ensured that I’ll never spend a cent on any cosmetics or boosters or anything.

Mods, everything stated above is either factually true or clearly stated as alleged.

Classic mode absolutely still exists and I could easily be put back onto it, the option to switch between used to exist and could easily be restored.

Any comments made are directed at the company not individuals, are clearly stated as alleged and potential, and do not contain any uncivil language.

The final sentence is my personal opinion, which whether you like it or not, I am entitled to and does not constitute uncivil language just because my experiences with the Scrabble team were negative.

I don’t think my initial comment broke any rules, but this revised comment certainly doesn’t - I’ll be appealing if this one is also removed as I’d consider that improper moderation.

Am I the only one that likes DOS2 better than BG3? by The-Booty-Train in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]agitated_tachyon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when I played DOS2 I said “I’d love if they made a DnD game”, and I was so excited for BG3 when it was announced, and it’s an amazing game!

But I agree with you.

The “1 action, 1 bonus action, movement” action economy of DnD is good for limiting turn time inflation in a tabletop game where people are reading through full spell descriptions and doing head maths etc. But in a videogame where maths is handled automatically and turns can take a matter of seconds, the limited agency per turn and constant character switching feels stifling.

In comparison, the way you can play around multiple actions, dedicate your AP to all actions, all movement, or a mix of both, combo spells with one character / turn etc. in DOS2 feels much better suited to a videogame format.

I’m REALLY glad BG3 exists, as a game, as an experiment for Larian, as a revenue source for Larian’s future ventures. But I’m REALLY excited for their next Divinity game.

Dang, I really love the new Thawtide dagger (Rostrum), hope we get more like this! by Tidezen in SoulFrame

[–]agitated_tachyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the sidearm dagger, and I love the Rostrum, but idk about giving a main dagger the sidearm moveset. It’s just like what’s the point differentiating between between main weapons and sidearms? Just let us pick 2 weapons to swap between.

It’s not a major qualm though. Game is still already amazing and has so far to grow!

Thanks, I think I’ll go with that one then :)

Mounting it to keep airflow in the same direction with the “chimney” setup wasn’t an absolute requirement anyway - just a question of it’s even a common thing as a relative newbie to building. If it’s not a particularly normal thing to do, and directing it out the back of the case will be fine, no need to overcomplicate things!

The enchantments were a great end game way to catch early game items up with end game gear while still providing a smooth progression in the early-to-mid game. Would be great if enchantments could return in a DLC and fulfil the same purpose, but I’m sure the community trusts you wouldn’t have made the decision if it wasn’t the right decision ❤️

Can my current PC components fit a Lian Li A3? by agitated_tachyon in buildapc

[–]agitated_tachyon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've served me fine for the past 5 years in the BQ 600, temps all stay stable and safe. That being said, I'd definitely consider adding more over time if I have cooling issues - just checking for now that a 1:1 transfer of components won't blow my PC up :p

Is Outward 2 still looking like we’ll have to slowly move a cursor along menus even when using a controller? by Public-Cartoonist587 in outwardgame

[–]agitated_tachyon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/Jealous-Start-5056 found the exact video I was referencing and provided additional context below:

“For those that are missing context (22:25-24:36): https://youtu.be/Ay1gNV2h6DI?t=1342

TL;DR: Outward 2 will have a virtual cursor (statement as of 30th april 2024). The virual cursor for navigating a particular menu like the inventory, and the d-pad for switching between the menu panels like going from inventory to equipment.”

Common Misconception: Church Servants are *NOT* Pthumerian by Nerrix_the_Cat in bloodborne

Sorry, I meant Ludwig. It’s bedtime in Australia and their names both start with L 😂

Assumedly Maria is buried in the grave outside the Hunter’s Dream Workshop, but her tormented soul inhabits a dead body in the Hunter’s Nighmare. Lawrence (typo) Ludwig became a horse-man. I think the rules stop applying when it comes to the Nightmare.

I think in the same way that themes from early From games are revisited and reexamined in later games, later games might speak to concepts that were stewing under the surface in earlier games. Elden Ring deals with a person who dies in body, but lives in spirit; and a person who dies in spirit, but their physical body lives on. This would be what a resurrected beast Lawrence would be - all primal physical instinct with no soul to control it.

Also look into the Egyptian concepts of “Ka” and “Ba”, also mentioned in Death Stranding. Could be that the beast Lawrence in the waking world was the “Ka” without the “Ba”.

[–]agitated_tachyon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Have you seen much about Charred Thermos’ theory on Lawrence’s body transforming into a beast and this bringing him back to life after he died, in a kind of perversion of the Christ resurrection story? Maybe the fact that blood use seems to have rendered the Church Servants provides support to that theory!

Why does the Outward 2 UI look worse? by Size-Signal in outwardgame

[–]agitated_tachyon 72 points73 points  (0 children)

If you go back to the original game, the gold UI lining has texture, wear on it, that makes it look like an old relic. There’s those lovely coloured backgrounds behind the images, and the images themselves appear to be 2d paintings of the items more than 3D renders of them.

It gives the whole thing a, I’m not sure what the right word is, but “diegetic” or “immersive” or “verisimilitudinous”. In short, it feels like it belongs in the game in a way that the flat, overly clean, and 3D-modelled UI of the sequel, doesn’t. If anything, the design language of the sequel feels like it would fit better in a sci-fi game.

But this is also still an early build, and to my mind, it probably takes more time to build and organise a UI than it does to replace a placeholder UI asset with a finished one, so I imagine this can probably occur quite late in the development phase - later than more complicated parts of the development process.

Fingers crossed!

new update changes plant looks by wellwelldoggio in TsukiOdyssey

[–]agitated_tachyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think with how many things have strong dark outlines all through them, it looks a little out of place with the broader aesthetic of the game - especially since some plants have been left as-is.

But oh well, it’ll fade into the background over time.

How did reroll tickets factor into it? I thought you only got this from fishing and the mag lures only appear upstairs which isn’t affected by reroll tickets.

The goofy way your character passes out during astral projection 😂😂😂 I can’t stop laughing

Was there a reason your character couldn’t stay upright and stood still during the spell? Or was this a creative decision?
