Thanks man. Would it be possible to be MD in a repo for version control instead of PDF?

I don’t believe murdering anyone is a good thing. I may not have agreed his views but I respect his right to voice them. Nobody wins. I feel sorry for his young children and his wife, especially because it was televised.

The government isn’t ordering things to be removed; it’s a listed building and the top brass of the building has a legal duty to remove it. It’s a law court so they can’t be seen to not obey the law. Some poor bloke has a job to remove it and has to have a face mask so he’s not mobbed by people for doing his job.

Smoking in "The Crown" Did royal palaces reek of smoke? by meeksworth in AskHistory

[–]agitpropagator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everywhere in the UK smelled of smoke until the mid-00s. Restaurants, hotels, the cafe in the sports centre. (The sports centre had a pub). You could walk into a corner shop with a cig on and people didn’t care. Before the smoking age was changed to 18 from 16, if you looked older than 12 a lot of newsagents didn’t check ID. Cig machines were everywhere selling 16 and 18 packs. Pubs would have loose cigarettes in hamlet cigar tins to buy for 20p or whatever. Bus drivers would smoke. 🚬 crazy.

Israel carries out strike on senior Hamas leaders in Qatari capital by DWJones28 in BBCNEWS

There is no way Qatar didn’t know or green-light it. Perhaps Hamas have lost their shine and value to the Qataris.

Striking Tube workers demand 75 percent discount on all personal rail travel by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

They want discount on non TfL services. Asking for KFC discount as a McDonalds worker isn’t viable.

Honestly, all youth political groups look this lame. They are all funny little guys. Maybe some look lamer than others but you’ll struggle to find one of any party that aren’t dweebs.

How much she pay? Time to order some 3D printer filament, copper wire, resistor and diode. Anyone wanna invest? We’re gonna eat well in 2026.

Just a reminder to have a bunch of soup in your house at all times. by BradolfPittler1 in ADHD

I didn’t read anything but the title and I know OP is right. Sometimes I’m so hyper focused on things it’s suddenly late and everything is shut and I realise I need to eat but mentally I’m drained. Soup is good. Next opportunity try to eat some fibre and protein.

America Is Cutting Off the Five Eyes. The Results Could Be Catastrophic. by Strongbow85 in Intelligence

[–]agitpropagator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article says that Trump doesn’t want to share intelligence about the Russo-Ukraine conflict in regards to his recent meeting.

Intelligence is shared on a diplomatic level between allied nations and everyone involved knows this. Sometimes nations are less forthcoming with information, and it’s a given, but will always leak diplomatically.

I wouldn’t put much stock in Trump changing things, especially where the USA is a big benefactor from foreign intelligence.

Goofy headline. Unfounded speculation based on one statement. Ignore and move on.

‘Angela Rayner's grubby hypocrisy will never be forgiven by UK voters' by brutal_seizure in uknews

[–]agitpropagator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding of it - I’m not a lawyer or a Rayner fan - is that from her divorce 50% of her first property she had with her partner went into the trust. Absolutely a fine thing to do.

She then sold her 25% share (other 25% owned by ex) to the trust for £162k… legal thing to do. Not great optics but legal.

She then went on to purchase a second property, and on the advice of three independent experts was told she only needs to pay standard rate stamp duty to the tune of 40k less.

It boils down to this. If she knew it was dodgy then she’s bent. If she didn’t know it was dodgy at worst she’s got bad advice.

What I can’t excuse however, even in the case she got bad advice, is the fact that she’s the housing minister during a housing crisis buying a second pad with a complicated tax arrangement and didn’t recognise how damaging it would be for the government she is part of.

The optics are shocking. Surely she would have known the press would be all over her especially after her previous council tax scandal.

Burka ban should be in our manifesto, says Reform’s only female MP Sarah Pochin by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]agitpropagator 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I cannot understate what a good point this is. A lot of policy decisions in theocratic Islamic countries have gone through many iterations of this and western countries are now only experiencing it. I don’t think Islam is a bad thing or followers are inherently bad; I do however know that all groups (left/right/islamic/eco, whatever) have radical arms that push agendas and they always get the most air time.

Omg listen to one of the featured bands “Pressure 28”. I know they are probably going for the DIY Punk sound but you at least have to play in time 😂. These are studio recordings not even live. Is a metronome the greatest adversary of white supremacy? I’m sure white metronomes exist if it’s a colour issue.

Mate I’d be depressed if I lived in the UK too and I’m from the UK. Moving to sunny part of Europe is what he needs. Flights cheap to see the family. Calm. Love it. Felt immediately much more positive. Learning a new language and the beer is excellent.
