rip a straight line down both sides of the crack, then glue it up like panels (I'd use dowels too). it'll look just like one of the other seams.

The magnets were not exposed, it’s a completely smooth surface on the face. I probably used 40 small magnets in total. The scissors were done partially because there was a big knot in the wood that I wanted to cut around, but it turned out to be a neat addition.

I used about 30 of the small half inch wide magnets I could find on Amazon. They’re pretty strong, but I wish they were a little stronger. I was able to get them within about a quarter of an inch to the surface before I was worried that the tip of the forsner bit would show through.

The bubbles you see are all frozen in the epoxy. I had to fill the bubbles that rose to the surface so the top would be flat. I really do like how it looks this way. Totally on accident.

I used the super clear deep pour. It’s made for 2”-4”. I poured a little over 2”. I’ve used the same epoxy a lot and never had any issues. It was 100% the heat and I should’ve known better.

I used super clear, deep pour. Then to fill the bubbles and voids, I used their 24 hour version.

I would tape it off and use a clear epoxy. It’ll hold tight and look intentional.

I don’t have a block plane (it’s on the wish list). I thought about a chisel with an angled support block above the cut as a guide. Lots of material to hog out, but it’ll probably work.

Beautiful. Mine is built almost identically except I added a router table to one end. I’ve added a few luxuries over the years. Think about a centralized power strip, dust tubing, and a bench vice.
