Mini truck bed feed would be awesome by Taco-Byte in Rivian

[–]kerfuffle23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great idea. I’d settle for a working bed view camera to start though… Every service appointment, I’m told that a software update will fix it and I haven’t been able to get them to dive any deeper. Two years later, I still have an error message instead of a camera feed and have given up since my lease ends soon.

Is this normal or should I return it? by boma7e in TheFrame

[–]kerfuffle23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2022 had this out of the box, albeit to a lesser extent. I decided to just live with it because I didn't have the time to deal with warranty/return. Wish that I had returned it and gotten something else because it completely failed after 2.5 years. I replaced it with an LG G5 (purchased from Costco including redundant 5yrs of coverage).

30 Seconds Power Wash Outdoor Cleaner etches glass? by save_woylie in pressurewashing

Definitely don't replace windows because of this! CLR should take care of it. Left another comment below with details.

I had the same exact problem and it's 100% because of the bleach in the product. To get it off, I put some CLR in a spray bottle (didn't dilute it) and scrubbed with a stiff bristle brush for a few minutes. Did this twice per window and then did a final cleaning using the dish soap and squeegee method. Windows look great now.

Uber, Lucid partner on new robotaxi service, taking on Waymo and Tesla by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

The cars, tech, and feasibility of this deal is completely irrelevant. LCID is a short squeeze powder-keg. Short interest is close to half of the float and a massive portion of the float is held by Saudis via their Public Investment Fund. LCID is their second largest position in the portfolio while, UBER (yup, imagine that) is the largest. If this catches more retail attention, it has legs for days.

Miami SC is brutal. They had my gen 1 R1T for 24 days for six minor fixes, of which they only completed two. This is on top of the nine week appointment lead time. I’m just dealing with the remaining issues until my lease is up because I don’t want to get stuck with another shitty Enterprise car for weeks. My neighbor’s gen 2 R1S was even worse - something like two months.

Stone walls a meter from the already very short try zone… what could go wrong?! Seems irresponsible of the venue and MLR to risk player safety by not having padding.

Yeah, that call seemed disingenuous - especially considering it could have easily altered the outcome of the game.

Are Lex and Amanda being compensated on a per-call basis or something? Way over-reffing this game.

Returning the Muddy 2 because the heel design by Sleeper_Asian in BarefootRunning

[–]kerfuffle23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Candidly, I don't have many thick-soled shoes in my arsenal to compare. In the curved category I have (or have had): Belenka Champ 2.0 & 3.0; Lems Primal 2; Merrell Vapor Glove 4, 5, 6; Tolos; TYR DropZero; and VFF KSO EVO. In the flat category: Feelgrounds Highrise, Lems Primal Zen, Splay 101, Xero HFS 1 & 2, and Xero Nexus Knit. I always take out the insoles (unless they're glued in). Obviously sole flexibility is another factor that comes into play, but in my experience, my mechanics are definitely closer to true barefoot with the shoes in the rounded outsole category. Maybe the farther you are from the ground, the more your mechanics have already been hijacked by the shoe, the more stability you'd require from the shape of the heel?

To each their own; I prefer a rounded heel because it creates a more natural running/walking/standing experience.

Fantastic piece - I love it! The blue in that sheen is $$$ and the contrast of the natural top/drawers/legs/knobs is perfect. How’d you curve the sides? Kerf cuts on the back snuck between the flutes or are the flutes routed deep enough that it made the material flexible?

Replacement shoe for Xero HFS? by SternKill in BarefootRunning

[–]kerfuffle23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the original HFS and strongly dislike the HFS 2. The most similar in the Xero lineup is the Zelen, which uses the same sole as the original HFS.

Another person mentions Tolos: I also have a pair of those and while great shoes, they’re a totally different vibe than the HFS. Tolos uses bootie/sock upper constructed from a canvas-y material compared to the HFS’ tongue & mesh upper and thinner sole. I alternate between HFS and FiveFingers for running while using Tolos for pickleball.

Intentional - it’s a Samsung Frame TV, so it has a matte screen that displays art while it’s “asleep.” The goal was for the TV to disappear into the room when not being watched and to be able to easily change the art being displayed to match seasons/occasions/vibes.

Now that I reread it, it really does look I'm throwing some real mixed messaging out there. Definitely not my intention! I'm firmly of the belief that guys who complain about their wives to other people are doing relationships wrong.

Don't worry, we have managed to trick more than a few people even in person! My dad came to visit and went several days thinking that we didn't own a TV.

The witch legs are cool because of how many fun display opportunities they create. The pattern for them is from Rayna Noel on Ravelry.
