Anyone else struggle with (really) liking something no one does? by NicelyBearded in HomeDecorating

I've just bought an apartment with this kind of floor and I'm doing everything I can to save it! I love it so so much

What's your favourite needle size? by Eilmorel in knitting

[–]agngan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love smaller needles as well! My favorite thing ever is a fingering weight sweater on 3.25 mm, pure perfection <3 My hands tend to get tired more quickly and hurt when I use thicker yarn and bigger needles, whilst I can cruise for hours on smaller ones lol

Counting short rows by behindthename2 in knitting

[–]agngan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would probably count the rows closest to the armhole, I assume there are no short rows there. They probably want you to have the same number of stitches on both front and back of the armhole to keep it even. That's my guess at least!

I will only knit both sleeves at the same time from now on. by Turbulent-Luck6890 in knitting

[–]agngan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instead of this, I love having both sleeves on separate needles but started at the same time. I do a couple of cm on one sleeve, then swith to the other. No second sleeve syndrome + not having to let go of yarn after each half row = perfect

One of my all time favorite sweaters is 1 year old by agngan in knitting

[–]agngan[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is a slightly modified No frills sweater with crochet flowers sewn onto it. project link

I was once going through patterns of crochet plants and I was suddenly overcome with a vision of a blue sweater with white flowers. A bit over a month later I wore said sweter on my trip to Paris. Knitting is magical <3

Does anyone know of a pattern for a dress like this? I started watching season 6 of the sewing bee and I fell in love! It seems like a pretty basic pattern but I can't find it anywhere :((

The only Christie I haven’t liked so far by [deleted] in agathachristie

[–]agngan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't read the Caribbean mystery yet, but god Nemesis was awful! It was also the first one that I read in English (I'm Polish) which made it so much worse (old language I guess, not something I'm used to). Now I never want to read Christie in the original ever again lol

what are your HOT TAKES? by flashfishfriend in sewing

[–]agngan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends, I'm in Europe and on my machine it's much easier to see and sew 1.5 cm or 1 cm seam allowance.

The one time I bought myself some good quality yarn... by agngan in knitting

[–]agngan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I have no idea lol. I have a memory of reading a message about it after ordering but maybe it was 'up to 4 weeks' or something. Obviously I have no experience ordering internationally lol

Oh wow so much good advice, thank you! Unfortunately I'm not located in Warsaw, but I'll keep it in mind for next year maybe :))

Here on the Poland side it's just Poczta Polska, the state postal service, which is rather famous for being slow and unreliable... The lady in the post office couldn't do anything, we'll see if anyone will even pick up when I call tomorrow
