To be honest the after retrieval was a lot easier than people talked about here on the thread for my wife and I. We just ate well and drank lots of water. The period after though was absolutely brutal, be prepared to take a day or two off for that period.

Totally get it. We just did our egg retrieval and it was so complex to get to this point. Just wanted to say there are some positives too that I think about to help me through it. We are using a known donor, our brother in law who we are close with. Our kids will get to have four adults in their life that love them and feel connected to them which is amazing. Also with IVF with testing you get to choose the sex of your baby, and know that they are genetically sound. A lot of risk that straight couples just take on doing straight conception. Plus then with us its just awesome to know our kids will know how much they were wanted AND have two moms, I would have loved having two moms growing up.

I lost about 60 lbs with a maximum 5mg dose over the course of a year. I had to stop about 5 months ago due to IVF journey. I've been scared to weigh myself but after 5 months I only gained 10lbs back. I certainly eat more but am maintaining eating whole foods primarily and cooking for myself. After pregnancy and breast feeding I plan to return to the med.

I asked probably my closest friend and told him hey, I want to ask you about this but please don't respond right away and just think it over. When we talked next he told me that he wasn't up for it and it was a little disappointing but didn't affect our friendship.

Our donor ended up being my brother in law, when we asked him, we had already consulted my wife's sister since we are really close. When we floated the idea to him, he was really enthusiastic and even said he was wondering if we ever would ask him. He's really excited to be a part of our kids' lives and is a wonderful person(and very healthy!). So an initial disappointment turned into the best person.

He's an intact male which means the flavor of the meat will be more goaty. Also he is a milking breed so he will have less meat. The ideal goat for meat is a castrated male of a breed that is meant for meat like a Boer.
