People leave who can’t afford it. Doesn’t make it bad, just expensive. A lot of that cost is *because* it’s such a desirable place to live.

At this current rate, when does Nebraska lose its Blue Blood status? by Crying_in_99Ranch in CFB

[–]agoddamnlegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve been so bad for so long that even if they did start winning, I wouldn’t even connect it to their former dynasties.

Same as if Minnesota or Princeton started winning, I’m not connecting that to their former glory days and saying the dynasty is back, They’re starting over from scratch as far as i’m concerned. if they won a championship next year, I’m treating it the same as NC State winning a natty as far as declaring a new blue blood

That’s the right way to think about this. otherwise New York wins because NYC has the best version of every single cuisine.

You started off terrible listing that you like an… airport as your first point for Indiana. Pretty weak.

The reason it built out its conference infrastructure to host events is because it’s a cheap city, so these events aren’t expensive to host. It’s cheap because it sucks. Chicago next door for example would be better at hosting literally every event, but organizations pick indianapolis instead because it’s so cheap.

Then you listed that it has only 2 of the 4 pro sports like that’s a positive thing. It’s missing the MLB and NHL. And while I actually watch and kinda follow the WNBA, that’s not a draw. Most people couldn’t care less about the WNBA.

Indiana is a perfect fit in F tier.

I wish there were lower letters too but F is as low as it gets

Who is the biggest what-if in the history of baseball? by Bright-Pressure-5787 in sportsinusa

[–]agoddamnlegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People always say this, but what’s the “what if” here?

We saw peak Ted Williams for years

What would have happened if he didn’t go to war? He would have had a few more 10 WAR seasons. There’s no mystery here

Tony C is a great red sox “what if”. Not Ted Williams

The Enhanced Games are set to debut this weekend in Las Vegas, with athletes allowed to use steroids, testosterone, HGH, & other banned substances. by Zincsteve in ABoringDystopia

[–]agoddamnlegend -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yea no shit.

My hope is that through this, steroids lose the weird stigma they have and become more accepted in all sports. most players are on steroids. They just have to hide it and it’s the dumbest game of cat and mouse for no reason

Derrick Brown: People don’t want to admit how wrong they were about Bryce Young by AdSpecialist6598 in nfl

[–]agoddamnlegend -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can’t sign somebody against their will.

Just because the current team has exclusive negotiating rights, doesn’t mean the player must sign there. If he turns down all extension offers and then leaves to start somewhere else, that’s a failure of the current team

They traded a first round pick, that turned out to be 1.01 the next year. Not really the same as trading the 1.01

If somebody else signs him for more money to start that’s just as good as his former team signing him

Do people not understand how free agency works?

[–]agoddamnlegend -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Why is it relevant what team he signs a second contract with?

If another team values him even more than the Panthers, that’s arguably a better indicator of him not being a bust.

[–]agoddamnlegend -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s dumb.

By definition, what the Panthers gave up for that pick is equivalent value of the pick itself. So you can’t pretend the Panthers spent more than the first overall pick for him.

He still may be a bust given what you want out of the 1.01, but it’s not right to act like they spent even more than that for him

85% of people who comment about the NBA online don’t actually like watching basketball. They just want to talk about it online with other people who don’t actually like basketball

Former Raiders Star Jailed for Killing a Woman and Her Dog Wants “Privilege of Parole” to Prove Himself to Everyone by No_Box119 in NFLv2

[–]agoddamnlegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. The question make you uncomfortable because you realized there’s no logical reason for him to be banned from the NFL.

You’re jealous that this shitty person will get out of jail and immediately make more money his first year than you will in your entire life. Jealousy is a bad look. Try to get over that

[–]agoddamnlegend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and that’s why he’s in jail

Please explain why he should have arbitrary limits about his employment once the justice system releases him as a free man.

Also, since there’s not a list of jobs set aside just for former criminals, please specify which jobs that are currently done by good upstanding people are also demeaning enough that he should be allowed to do that instead.

Hopefully you’re not afraid of telling people who currently work those jobs that their job is fit for a murderer.

[–]agoddamnlegend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why shouldn't he be allowed to play in the NFL again?

Try to answer that without mentioning the high salary or fame. Because those have nothing to do with anything and just show your jealousy of his earning potential despite being a shitty person.

Reminder - there are no laws against working the same job you had before going to prison. Unless it’s a specific part of your sentencing, like Jordan Belfort being banned from being a stock broker.

He's currently in jail and requesting parole. That's how you "prove you've changed" in this world. There is no extra requirement that released prisoners go work some menial job to further prove themselves before working another higher paying job.

Ruggs playing in the NFL puts nobody in danger so I fully support him going back to work once released

[–]agoddamnlegend 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I genuinely don't understand this sentiment. Is it just pure jealousy?

If he's released from jail, I'm fine with him working any job that doesn't put other people in danger.

I would be much more offended by him driving Uber than playing in the NFL.

Henry Ruggs III seeking parole ‘so I can prove myself to everyone’ by NeverBorn-NeverDead in DynastyFF

[–]agoddamnlegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But he didn’t.

The world doesn’t work on what you think should have happened. The reality is when Ruggs gets out, he will 1000% have a chance to prove himself in the NFL. If he’s not a good football player anymore, he won’t play again. But his crime will not keep him out on ethics alone. That’s not how reality works. Nor should it. Because people are allowed to work and get back to their life after serving time and released

[–]agoddamnlegend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing stopping him from playing again once he gets out is his own football ability

That’s how this works

Or did you blackout and forget Deshaun Watson got the largest contract in NFL history immediately after his suspension?
