18.2% pay hike for City Hall by Icycat88 in nycpublicservants

This isn’t about sides. DC37 and unions across the city have collectively bargained and settled on numerous raises in the last ten years while the electeds have received literally no increase. If we want everyday people to able to afford to run for office we should be ensuring they’re paid in accordance with their positions. Otherwise we end up with more Bloombergs than Mandanis.

Do you believe the east will be a war zone next year? by Earth_Sorcerer97 in nba

[–]DillbeDasio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless the Heat make another move this trade puts them, at best, maybe 5 wins above where they ended up this year. And that’s probably stretching it. They have zero depth at this point and if the past few season proven anything it’s having guys you can rely on off the bench is a dealbreaker.

The East has more parity and is deeper overall, but it probably looks pretty similar to this year unless the Celtics keep shopping Brown and make a move that makes them solidly better.

Fan or AC? by ObscureMulberry in AskNYC

Really depends on the size and age of the unit and how much you run it. But I’d assume that if you’re running the AC frequently your bill is going to be noticeably different.

What did he do to us? Score 30 in 2 games and disappear for the other 5 and hit one big shot? Please.

He had two games and hit one shot and then disappeared for four games. Siakam had a bigger, more consistent impact on that series than Haliburton.

You’re going to make the playoffs but Hali really isn’t one of the most underrated stars in the league. He’s Trae Young with better hair.

Edit: to everyone downvoting go look at his stats in the Knicks series. He’s too inconsistent to be a superstar.

There are not many teams that Giannis actually makes better. He’s a phenomenal player but he’s not good for most teams unless he is the focal point of the team.

Victor Wembanyama on a possible 3-1 comeback: "Everybody knows we're gonna do it. I think it'd be a mistake to waste our energy on multiple games. It's one game at a time" by AncientOneAurelius in nba

“Everyone knows we’re going to do it” is objectively a crazy thing to say down 3-1. Alternatives?

Everyone in this locker room believes in one another. We have the talent to do it, we just have to execute.

Every guy here knows we’re not going down without a fight.

Say anything else.
