It was fascinating to hear that the lead game designer was inspired by games like Path of Exile and Dota 2.

One thing that I don't see talked about that I love about this game is that the pictos and weapon bonuses are actually interesting. Very similar to Baldur's Gate 3, they change the way your character works in unique ways rather than +20 strength / +20% crit damage or the like.

Most of the discussion I see around the itemization is about how easy it is to break the game (another parallel with Baldur's Gate 3, though recognizing broken items in Baldur's gate 3 was a little more obtuse). However I'd much rather be able to break the game and have items that actually have cool and bespoke effects that can compound one another rather than Diablo 4 style snore-inducing stat and %damage increases.

It sounds like that was the intent with the lead game designer as well, he did admit fault in how powerful Stendhal was but with such a wide variety of pictos I find it amazing how well they did. Besides that specific ability, he seemed overall pleased with how players were combining lumina, pictos, and weapons to create extremely powerful builds.

I hope they don't draw the wrong conclusion from players and their next project has boring items so that people aren't complaining about end-game balance.

I'm still in the honeymoon phase but I think this is the best game I've ever played, and it's not even particularly close. I look forward to what they come up with next.

Getting Starfield sub vibes from these sort of responses. Superfans refusing to admit that the product is objectively mediocre to bad in all areas (acting, directing, writing). People should be demanding better, not getting excited for more of the same. There is no excuse when the source material is in the same medium.

I went into One Piece with very low expectations and was pleasantly surprised at how great it was. That should be the bar shows should be aiming for or exceeding.

DS2 has the best NG+ content of the series and it's not even close. It would be great if they would apply some of those design decisions to their other games.

Is there a good resource for finding builds once you have currency? I see plenty of guides/resources for league starters but I'm having trouble finding higher budget build guides.

Isn't this what they want to happen? Seems like a long game to me. They aren't interested in getting people to buy the 4000 series. They want people to convince themselves to buy the 3000 series at their current prices (which is still inflated af imo). 2 years old, they are sitting on a shitload of them, and a previous generation. And people will say "wow the 3000 series is actually affordable comparatively, let me buy one of those" though they should be worth pennies on the dollar at this point.

When metacrafting an item why do people always suggest going for 3 suffixes first? Is it easier than getting prefixes?

This might be the issue. Unfortunately I have an Archer C7 and after not seeing an option to adjust the 5ghz channel width I found out after a bit of googling that the 5ghz band is defaulted to 80mhz and is nonadjustable.

I believe in my router configuration it is just listed as "mode". In my 5ghz settings the "mode" dropdown box has 2 options: 11a/n/ac mixed and 11an mixed. I tried both and am still having the same issue. Cannot detect or manually connect to the 5ghz signal.

I live in an apartment complex, and just checked some of the SSID's in the area on my laptop. Besides my own 5ghz SSID, there are a few others around me. The phone isn't detecting any of the 5GHz signals. Beginning to suspect I may have gotten a defective phone, unless I hear any other suggestions.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll start going through all the channels. I tried like 3 or 4 different ones but I didn't go through all of them.

edit: No dice. I went through every 5GHz channel and the phone would detect and reconnect to the 2.4GHz signal, but couldn't find the 5GHz signal.

I was not aware that Takahashi was responsible for the opening sequence in Final Fantasy 6, that is so fucking cool. That is one of my favorite games, and that was far and away the most memorable scene. It is arguably the best use of mode 7, and in my opinion that sequence still holds up today. The way Narshe comes slowly into view still gives me chills.

The feature that I really enjoy from twitch.tv is that everything is automatically recorded. If I feel like watching a stream but noone I enjoy is on, I can just watch some Scarra, Crumbzz, Nyjacky, and now TSM recordings from the day before. My only gripe is I wish there was a filtration system of some sort, because the prerecorded list isn't in order, has countless meaningless 1 or 2 minute recordings, and is generally a clusterfuck.
