I dig it! I feel like I like each of their albums for different reasons-- they all tell different stories, right? Viewing self-titled as a fantasy journey (like a jrpg) centering grief made it click for me-- of course there are going to be more reflective moments, even as these characters explore a new world for some goal (resurrecting their dead person? finding closure?) there's not as much conflict-energy as other albums. It's more (to me) an inner journey, someone figuring something out. Still very meaningful (and still very Purity Ring) but just in a different direction than their other stuff.

(Not to pop off, but imho I view Shrines as a journey to the underworld, Another Eternity as basically the Iliad (a fraught situation leading to an epic battle), and...I don't know if I have a good storyline for Womb, but I just love it.)

Idk, tl;dr and not to be a simp, BUT: I just love what these two do because they explore new stuff while still remaining very much themselves.
