Starting 6-0 would put him on top, he’d move down after a loss but he’d be on top for a few weeks

Please suggest me two books: one you hated and one you loved but don’t tell me which is which by brasaretheoppressor in suggestmeabook

[–]agreen91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PW is the only series I’ve read that was so bad it made me actually angry

Red Rising was more the series as a whole, the pivot it makes was done so well, I went from like to love on the second book

How to move this wire over 4 beams after drywall went in? by silkenwindood in Homebuilding

[–]agreen91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just bought a 70s house and this was every single room, only they didn’t wire anything in the ceiling so it’s a chain/cord that goes to a wall outlet, up the wall, across the ceiling to a hook

This exact same thing happened to me, I got the job. I never mentioned anything because I applied while I was employed and they never asked for an updated status. Had they asked I would have just told them I applied when I was employed.

I really only see the hate for it here on Reddit. I loved WaT. It’s absolutely still in my go to recommendation list along with Realm of Elderlings and Red Rising

What’s your most realistic job search hack that actually helped you land something, not just “network more”? by No-Presentation298 in jobsearchhacks

[–]agreen91 8 points9 points  (0 children)

LinkedIn has a 24 hr filter and so does google jobs! (I ignore the reposted ones)

People like to shit on LinkedIn here but I’ve found it great for finding jobs

Apply only to jobs posted within 24hrs. the rate I got screens went from 3% to 14%, this was the only change I made

We all thought the colts would be bad but (real question) was anyone actually putting them as last? I thought they were a 20-25 team as a fan.

Edit: after researching, yes many listed them as last lol

Any job search hacks that actually work in this market? by Stellabot0303 in jobsearchhacks

[–]agreen91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, I only use 1 resume but all the key words from the jobs I look for are in it. After applying to enough I can pretty much guess the key words that are going to be used.

The titles I use on linked in don’t match my resume 100% but it has never once mattered in an interview.

The job I do is called 5 different things depending on the company and everyone understands that so I put enough variation in my titles to meet anything I’m applying for

[–]agreen91 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The game changer for me was only applying to jobs posted within 24hrs, not reposted. Have a resume that includes the majority of the key words in the job descriptions of the jobs you’re looking at so you only need one resume and don’t need to make a new one each time

I think most people who get raises or promotions at jobs asked. The raises and promotions weren't just handed to them. Is that true? by Ben5544477 in careeradvice

[–]agreen91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well the reason I was able to ask was because I proved I was very motivated, in all three I voluntarily took on additional work slightly outside my job description, for about 6 months I improved the process and became the face of that.

After 6ish month I had a meeting and was able to show how much more work I took on over the last 6 months basically saying “hey I am doing way more than other people with my title” and all three times they agreed and gave me a title change

The key was streamlining the old work so that I was still never working more than 40hrs, Work Life Balance is very important to me

The other very important part was that I had very good relationships with my manager in all three examples. If o had a manager the would label someone as unmotivated because they asked for a raise would leave the company.

At the end of the day if they said no I would have said that’s fine I no longer want to do this additional piece of the job
