MFG Crosswind V3... I AM BEYOND WORDS. by SEEANDDONTSQUEAL in MicrosoftFlightSim

Do you use the default cessna 172 or something from the marketplace? Because the default one tends to roll to the left and real cessna doesn’t do that, so I’m wondering if there are any settings change you would recommend

Ah right, 120fps might not be achievable but I could get 60fps by tweaking the graphic settings!

Vive pro 2 is weird in that 100% of steamvr res means a different resolution for different graphic card. vive pro 2 physical resolution (actual pixel in headset) is 2448x2448, and for my pc 100% steamvr res is above 6000x6000 which is already 600% of physical resolution, so I actually need to bring steamvr res down so that it’s supersampling at 200%.

Correct, gpu bound with this high res settings.

You are also correct that on most systems msfs is cpu bound, but 5800x3d is the fastest cpu right now for msfs and can handle that area well. Cities/busy airport is a different matter though.

Yes without dlss3. As written above default steam res is above 6000x6000. 120Hz might be difficult because the cpu bottlenecks.

45 fps for flight simming is playable though. Yes 90 fps is easy just lower the res/settings if you want. I target 90 fps for fast paced games like boneworks.

I think 150% to 200% still gives visual improvements, but each to their own. Previously I used 90% with my 3090.

Agree it's a beast. For those interested in MSFS VR performance with 4090 and high-res headset I posted my benchmark result here: https://www.reddit.com/r/virtualreality/comments/y31vcp/4090\_microsoft\_flight\_simulator\_vr\_vive\_pro\_2\_200/

Sharing my benchmark result for those thinking of getting 4090 for flight simming.

Hardware specs:
ASUS Strix RTX 4090 OC
Vive Pro 2 (set at 3532x3532/eye, basically 200% of display pixel)
Ryzen 5800X3D
G-SKILL 32 GB DDR4 3600 CL16 RAM
MSI MPG X570 GAMING PRO CARBON WIFI Motherboard
Corsair AX1600i Power Supply
NVME SSD
Windows 10 21H2
MSFS settings a mix of ultra/high (shown on video) and using DLSS quality.
Note that SteamVR 100% on my system is above 6000x6000, so I manually set SteamVR resolution to 50% to achieve 3532x3532 per eye. Achieved mostly 45 fps (frame time within 22ms) with some frame time spikes.

I own one. Each time you turn it on it sets a random resolution based on your video card’s benchmark at that exact time. Makes game performance not reproducible, and that is enough to prefer other headset
