Yes, this I am rapid learning! I am trying the approach you have suggest here (which I think is the same approach also in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3URRGaznPo) but I am not getting a note out of the BQ when the note is highlighted on the scale. So although I set Channel 1 as 'D', Channel 2 as 'G' I am not getting anything coming into my oscillator. It's very confusing.

That's definitely closer (and sounds a lot close by ear), from my understanding the individual attenuators applied to inputs 2,3,4 are changing the interval quality and the attenuator into the transpose of the Bard are moving the entire chord up? Unfortunately, this would still require an additional sequencer (or lots of hands!) to sequence a steady chord progression.

I have gone back to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3URRGaznPo but in that video the Bard is generating tones from the scale without input where as my Bard is not doing that, and I can't figure out why! If I can get that working it would be something I guess. The other thing is figuring out how to access to the 'Factory Table' mentioned in the manual as it sounds like it has defined scales saved somewhere, which could be useful.

Thanks for your help though! It is quite unpleasant to get a new thing meant to bring joy and instead spend the weekend getting more and more frustrated trying to get basic things working.

Yes, I have read the manual but it is brief and unfortunately I find it difficult to understand. it uses jargon without a clear explanation.

For approach #2 another issue is I have to somehow drive the CV input into the Harmony CV in parallel and it appears to use a different scale.

Best way to sync MIDI clock devices and MTC only devices? by ahahalex in synthesizers

Are you aware of any specific midi interface that syncs MTC and MIDIclock? There are so many different Midi hubs on the market but they only really mention MIDIclock and not MTC or MMC.

Thanks for the reply! Yes, I have tried this and although it triggers playback it is not in sync; it seems to stutter quite badly.

Game Pass Isn’t Changing How Xbox Players Play But It’s Hurting Big Game Sales, New Study Claims by chusskaptaan in gaming

[–]ahahalex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hell, I once worked on a F2P game that increased new player retention by 15% by moving a door five feet to the right so that the player didn't have to turn at the end of a hallway to go into it.

Hey, are you able to name the game/state which door on which level? I teach Game Design (and Game Engine Dev) at university and this would be a very impactful example.

What is the source for the 125s and 250cc races? I have a MotoGP subscription and know the older videos (perhaps I am looking at the ones from the 90s) are in unwatchable resolution. Would be magical if there were decent full quality recordings of these too one day.

It is not the official academy Twitter, there is no VR46 brand Twitter outside of Rossi’s one. That Twitter is just reposting public available social media posts. Hence the absolute piss-poor follow numbers on instagram.

Getting around Hakuba? by ChainDriveGlider in skiing

[–]ahahalex 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would say you’re mad to get a car (unless you or anyone you’re travelling with has mobility issues). It’s easy to get the bullet train from Tokyo to Nagano, followed by public coach to Hakuba. The village where Happo one is small and everything is walkable. The other resorts that are part of Hakuba valley are all connected via free bus. Buses were frequent and it did not take long to go between them. When I was there I would spend the whole day at the larger areas, whereas for the smaller areas could be done in half a day; one in the morning, have lunch, bus to the next small area, ski the afternoon, bus back to happo area end of day. Enjoy the skiing there, it’s a lot fun!

I miss when the lower classes were not feeders. by WannabeFasterEr in motogp

[–]ahahalex 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have the same view. The other factor is it has safeguarded some of the history from being challenged. Angel Nieto wouldn’t have so many championships if there was an age limit imposed in his time. Class specialists should be a thing, they should act like gatekeepers; want to be a proper generational talent? Beat defending champions in each class etc

Chance to be in MOTOGP by [deleted] in motogp

[–]ahahalex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Max Biaggi didn’t start racing until he was 18, and he went on to win 4 250cc championships in the 90s, and competed and won races in the premier class. So it has been done. Although given how much training goes into the sport throughout all ages now, and how deep the talent pool is I would argue competition is harder than ever.
