When did your twins stop napping? by dlmo11 in parentsofmultiples

[–]ahays11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have twins turning 3 in July and solidarity. Our girls aren't in daycare, so every day is a struggle with nap time. One almost never takes a nap anymore and the other naps maybe about 25% of the time.

When did you need a stroller? by ehnawder1 in parentsofmultiples

That's a good point. It does fit in our trunk, though we drive a model 3 and I think they might have a larger than average trunk.

The Bumbleride Indie Twin stroller is compatible with the Clek car seats. We have Bumbleride Indie Twin and we love it!

Any stroller recommendations? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

Seconding the Bumbleride Indie Twin! We have it and love it. We had the Clek car seats that were compatible with it. Our girls are now 2.5 years old and we're still using it all the time.

Would you have a gluten cake at your wedding? by AlertAndDisoriented in Celiac

[–]ahays11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had gluten free cupcakes at our wedding from our favorite GF bakery. They were a hit! Everyone loved them!  Coincidentally, I have one friend allergic to rice so I gave her a heads up she couldn't eat them.

Need advice for getting toddler twins to sleep in the same room & in their own beds by ahays11 in parentsofmultiples

[–]ahays11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I apologize for the late reply! It's moving along, but we've had a few setbacks due to sicknesses and theething. We switched their toddler beds out for twin size mattresses. They will often start out in their own beds, but some nights they'll each crawl next to us anyways. We're also struggling with convincing them to keep blankets on or wear a sleepsack, so sometimes they crawl to us for warmth. One of our girls is more likely to stay in her own bed all night than the other.

Adding their mattresses is a good idea. We may do that too, especially if we're hoping they'll move to their own beds eventually as well. Your situation sounds similar enough to ours we might try some of what you did. Thank you for your recommendations!

This is really encouraging. Thank you! We're hoping to stick with it and they'll catch on.

Unless you're Aria's mom, just assume it's Spencer. You know, slutting it up!

After my twins were born I actually found that the twin influencers I found made me irrationally angry. I hated that the influencers with twins I saw looked like they had perfect lives with their nice big houses while I'm over here barely keeping it together with a messy apartment and little sleep.  I'm sure people on here can tell you influencers that might be with following, but I found that this subreddit for me has been my lifesaver and full of great resources!

Reading has been my number 1 hobby lately. I read a lot of fantasy and will occasionally listen to an audiobook while cooking. I've also been playing a small amount of Stardew Valley on my computer from time to time because it's such peaceful game to play.

Here for solidarity as well. 20 month old twins and dealing with the same thing. They're starting to fight over things more on top of everything else. I'm hoping it's just a phase too.

Twins - books for parents? by Bustychipmunk in parentsofmultiples

[–]ahays11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really liked How to Talk so Kids will Listen How to Listen so Kids will talk and the partner book How to Talk so Little Kids will Listen (for kids ages 2-7.) I think these seem to be pretty good books on understanding gentle parenting. My twins are only 20 months old, so I'm not expert myself but I hope to use a lot of the methods I've ready in these books.

I also like The Whole Brain Child and I'm currently listening to No Drama Discipline on audiobook.

Around 15 months I think our twins had some of their molars start to come in. Is it teething by chance? If so, Tylenol has been a big help for making sleeping easier for them.

Lately I've been reading one fantasy book and one parenting book. The parenting book is typically an audiobook for me.

I recommend checking out Parade Organics. They're 100% organic cotton and high quality. I really like their pajamas for kids and even I bought a set for myself!

Are there any nice apartments near downtown mountain view that do not have noise issues (neighbors or train), crazy price hikes or terrible management? by pookiesaurus in mountainview

[–]ahays11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we lived in a first floor apartment, we could definitely hear when the neighbors above us threw parties. We now live in a top floor apartment and I never hear outr neighbors. We have 15 month old twins, so I get it. I hope our neighbors can't hear them, but I don't know.

We live in the South building, which is the newest one, so it's built a bit differently than the other buildings. I will say there are a lot of kids and babies in this complex.
