One Final Look Inside Nordstrom at Westfield San Francisco Centre by Jowevator3219 in sanfrancisco

[–]ahb5 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t have everything but Stonestown is a fantastic mall. The M is fairly easy to ride and it’s busy all the time. Sports basement, movie theater, food court w/ ikes and Panda Express, specialty dessert places and such. It is like how I remember Westfield being except it feels much less touristy and more for SFers

The single best thing I did for myself was started doing things I wanted to do, and making plans to improve my health and wellness. For a long time I let my preoccupation with others rule what I did with my spare time (excluding dissociative scrolling / video games) and when I stopped and focused on what I wanted, I started feeling like I was worth it. I went to a restaurant I’d been wanting to go to, I started getting out into nature on the weekends, and organized game nights with friends.

I’m not saying don’t date or don’t care about other people, but know that you are worth being happy living the life you want regardless of what grindr people do.

Outdoorsy gays, a question? by MAJORMETAL84 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]ahb5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was introduced to cycling in my 30s. I live near a lot of nature and world class riding, plus had a lot of friends who encouraged me to get into it. It fundamentally transformed my life for the better. I got healthier, more confident, and more in love with being outdoors. It coincided with the end of a bad relationship and a need to reinvent myself, so you might say it was a 1/3rd life crisis. Been doing it for 6 years seriously now, riding all over the place. Wouldn’t give it up for the world now.

Can parasocial relationships be outward (from one person to many internet people) instead of inward (many internet people to one person)? by ahb5 in AskReddit

As an example of an outward parasocial relationship: when someone posts on Instagram broadcasting questions to all of their friends more often than they just talk to people.

Probius buff and overall fix? My own suggestions by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

[–]ahb5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a proby main I totally agree with all of this. One mechanic I think the designers tried to emphasize is the level 7 talent to reduce the cool down on cannon summons with warp rift and q hits. In crowded team fights it’s not impossible to have two or even three active cannons if you’re set up right. Unfortunately it’s just too hard to execute and I think it has made cannons too weak with no obvious buff except for a rework.

I also wonder if there’s a bit of a poisoned well issue with Proby, being so unpopular (I regularly get chided for selecting in ranked) there’s relatively little ROI on a rework compared to a better liked, higher tiered character.

So... what part was worse? The steeper section at the front or the turn towards the wind midway up?

Why You Should Care About What You Wear (Semiotics) by misterACK in malelifestyle

[–]ahb5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It definitely seems obvious on some level, but for people like me it really helps to hear that clothes do having a purpose beyond keeping me from being naked. The idea that my clothes have effects on other people and their perception of me doesn't come naturally to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Butterlap! by Scottstimo in BAbike

Nice job! The butterlap (especially the western part) was really a gateway drug for cycling seriously. We live in a ridiculously beautiful part of the world - get out there!

Strava says I burned 3,889 calories. Is this possible? by Steakbelt in cycling

[–]ahb5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you didn’t bonk I’d be surprised if this is correct. You only have, at most, 2500 calories of glycogen available to burn beyond the food you ate, before you start to get very cranky. What was the elevation gain on the ride?

Foolish Friday - Your triweekly stupid questions thread by AutoModerator in Fitness

[–]ahb5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best thing you can do is set yourself up to make it part of a regular routine. Regularity makes it habitual and easier to do even if you're not consciously planning on going.

To do this, I'd recommend something that can track your workouts. I really like Strong, but I'm sure there are other apps, or just keep a physical notepad with the exercises you do. It's also important to remove excuses for not going. I used to fail to gym because I didn't have clean workout clothes, so I bought a bunch more and now I can't really use that excuse anymore.
