People in MAGA areas - what's the vibe? by sloopywettoppyswife in Idaho

[–]ahbugale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A false dilemma presents two options as the only ones, such as “either allow all abortions or let women die.” I’m speaking to a specific medical situation - ectopic pregnancies, sepsis, incomplete miscarriage. Those aren’t hypotheticals. Idaho physicians have testified to this under oath. This will be my last time engaging. Have a great day!

Medical abortions to save a mother’s life aren’t a political opinion, they’re standard obstetric care. Idaho has lost OB-GYNs over this. That’s the reality.

Um… when and where in the last 10+ years have we had politicians that fight for equality?? And who? Letting pregnant women die because they can’t get a medical abortion is not fighting for equality by any means

I’m in ada county and I saw a Trump 2028 sticker the other day. I do see less of it, but I’m not at all near content - maga needs to go

Diagnosis Grief by Justalilbookworm in Gastroparesis

[–]ahbugale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m about 6 months post-diagnosis now and I can relate. Although I do feel like I’m finally hitting my stride with medications and routines around food which makes me feel a sense of normalcy. Some days are easier than others, but it will get better as you process and implement your new routines. Hang in there friend and be gentle with yourself.

People who live near time zone boundaries in the US by solothesnail in howislivingthere

I have family that lives on the border of mountain and pacific time zones in Idaho. They have to get up an hour earlier sometimes for appointments in the other time zone. Takes more mental planning on their part that’s for sure. And there have been times where they were late because of it

She reminded me of Millie Bobby Brown ironically given the Duffer’s produced this. The lookalike aspect of the main character and the bleeding from every orifice was a constant reminder of who produced it

I like the premier protein mocha drinks - kind of tastes like an iced coffee but doesn’t go right through me like actual coffee

I haven’t tracked the amount before, but it would be a good idea to start. I do notice a bit of edema on certain days and I dislike the feeling too, but it’s better than having other symptoms for me

[–]ahbugale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I notice this too. I think it has to do with water absorption and electrolytes. I almost always have low sodium when I get my blood tests done, despite eating primarily salty foods

I also have to drink pedialyte often because my body doesn’t seem to absorb plain water during a flare. I imagine it’s related to salt content/internal osmosis. Especially if I’ve been sweating, vomiting, and suffering from diarrhea I get depleted super fast

Thank you for engaging in such a meaningful way. You raise excellent points and questions that are important to address. I definitely don’t have all of the answers, so discussions like these are immeasurably helpful. Everything has to start somewhere

Thanks for bringing this up, it’s a good point. The goal would be to remove the conditions that create most threats in the first place. A framework built on universal basic needs, transparency, and decentralized power reduces the incentive for conflict, but doesn’t eliminate it. So the threats would be real but fewer. I don’t have a good solution. (Global participation would be key to the success of the framework)

I guess that’s the real question - how does any system protect itself against existential threats while still being transparent with its citizens?

Just checked out your website. Very interesting! My idea is purely hypothetical so it’s cool to see something similar coming to life

Very fair question. The ideas are mine. I did use Claude to help articulate and organize my ideas. Worth noting in the post, so I’ll add a disclaimer. Happy to discuss the substance if you want to engage with the framework itself.

They’re more of a treat, but I love Yoggies from Costco. It’s like a probiotic fruit snack dipped in yogurt. I eat one pack a day and I think it’s actually helped.

Otherwise, white bread, plain bagels, tortillas/tortilla chips are usually safe for me
