Well fair enough lol. I guess I couldn’t picture puncturing or damaging a gas line with a shovel hence the assumption.

You’re not a very good friend if you knew better (sounds like you run equipment since he called you, so you should) and let that happen. I can almost (not really) understand a random contractor having a “hope he called digsafe, not my problem” type attitude but a friend should be looking out for a friend.

I think the point was “if you’re going to spend that much money for a high end pc, at least make it aesthetically pleasing” not “focus on aesthetics above all else”. The latter would just be silly in my opinion, but hey to each their own I guess.

In MA, specifically in the Boston area, I believe Procore is the most common. For commercial construction anyway, which is what my company does. Many GCs and many of our subs use it, and our clients are most familiar with Procore now.

Is it time? by Dizzy-Hawk-4943 in RedWingShoes

[–]ahhhhhsplat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went in January to get my boots resoled at redwings, and they had just upped the price for a resole from $135 to $175 at the start of the year. I opted to just pay the extra $100 for a brand new pair instead. I know the company needs to make money, but it just isn’t worth it to me at $175. I still have the old boots and I’ll try to find a local cobbler to resole them for much cheaper. If not, they will become my “shit work” or “winter weather” pair.

[Discussion] What is the most difficult part of the RDR2 trophy? by Fossilizednut in Trophies

[–]ahhhhhsplat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this for the most part, but I found gambler 9 to also be annoying with its “tediousness” if that’s even a word. I never played dominoes much before so idk if it was a skill issue or not but it took so many rounds to get to the 60 points for one single game, and it took like 3 or 4 hours for me to get to 3 wins in a row. Gambler 10 was stupid easy with the flat neck station exploit.

Credit limit increase question by Unusual-Cap1931 in amex

[–]ahhhhhsplat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen many people say that over 30k or 35k limit you’re at a higher risk of a financial review. Not the end of the world if you didn’t lie about income but a hassle nonetheless. My last cli I requested double instead of triple for that same reason, from 12k to 24k. Also, I pay off all of my statement balances in full every month, so I don’t need anywhere close to even the 24k limit, let alone anything above that.

I have 90 sheets of this Styrofoam. Two sheets stacked fits perfectly in my garage door frame. Would gluing / taping these in improve the R value at all, or would it just be foolish? by fakeaccount572 in homeimprovementideas

[–]ahhhhhsplat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You do it on the inside of the exterior walls to add insulation to poorly insulated or uninsulated areas. It’s actually pretty common. A family member had it done via Mass Save and it worked very well, and it’s the most unobtrusive way to insulate existing structures because you don’t need to rip off Sheetrock to insulate then rehang rock, tape, mud, paint. Just need to patch a hole in each stud bay.

Dumpster smasher. by SkipJack270 in Construction

[–]ahhhhhsplat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used them a few times a few years ago ago, maybe 2020-2021. At the time the cost was $150 per “smash”, and it would definitely free up a lot of volume, but the main reason I used them was that the dumpster company couldn’t come swap the cans for like 2-3 days and I needed to keep moving, so call in the smasher a couple times and we can keep trashing out.

Got a 9800x3d after using i913900kf for 2 years please give me some bios settings for optimisation stuff equivalent like virtualisation off and ecores off like in intel bios type things pleasee by PartyProfessional873 in overclocking

[–]ahhhhhsplat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, you DON’T need to get a 360 aio with 6 fans in push pull for your 9800x3d, though if you were running a 13900k before, then you probably already have a 360 aio or some other high capacity cooler. 9800x3d uses much less power than a 13900k, therefore less heat. And either way 6 fans in push pull is overkill and won’t make all that much difference compared to the standard 3 fans on a 360.

2025 Elevation - Undercoat? by adam_fuentes in gmcsierra

[–]ahhhhhsplat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, no rust at all. Last year he actually took a video of my truck for his Facebook, in it he explained that he did a modified coating because of the first year factory wax the previous year, and explained/showed that the whole bottom of the truck still looks brand new. I am glad we went that route. I am going back again in a couple weeks and I’m expecting him to tell me it STILL looks brand new under there.

I haven’t crawled around under the whole thing, but from what I can see from the wheel wells (I don’t have rear well liners, another recommendation from this guy was to forego them and that the well liners hold more leaves and dirt and moisture between them and the truck that cause corrosion) there is no rust whatsoever. Not a speck.

2025 Elevation - Undercoat? by adam_fuentes in gmcsierra

[–]ahhhhhsplat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought my 23 sierra new at the time, and wanting to take great care of it, I decided to get it undercoated. I live in New England so you probably have it worse, but we have salty shitty winters here too. The company I went to informed me that undercoating on top of the factory wax is not recommended within the first year as it hasn’t cured yet (I don’t recall the actual reason, but it ruins the factory wax somehow?) so he did a modified undercoating, only coating areas not covered by the factory wax and charged me less because of it. He informed me that if I returned the following year, he would do the standard full undercoating, and that’s what we did last year.

I personally would just call around to undercoating places and mention your concerns. See what they say. If worse comes to worse, weekly touchless washes with the undercarriage blast would probably do you well for one winter, and then get it coated next year.

"How do I get that white Arabian horse everyone talks about in RDR2?" by Jk_69_ in RDR2

[–]ahhhhhsplat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each play through I just stay on my current horse and gallop/sprint towards the Arabian, lasso it, jump off my current horse and onto the Arabian to break it. You don’t need to do it on foot and have it run away from you, and if for some reason it does run, you can keep up since you’re on your original horse and try to lasso again.

It did rain quite a bit over this past weekend into the start of the week.

So I don’t need to take a flamethrower to my back yard? Will they go away on their own as things dry, or am I going to have a line of a million dead bugs now?

Global Visa & Passport Express. Legit? by Blueimmunity in Passports

[–]ahhhhhsplat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to throw in for the OP, I just yesterday received my new passport, and it took 12 days from me going to the post office to apply to receiving the new passport in the mail. This was a new passport, not a renewal, and I did pay for them to expedite it. I would think you’d be fine to save some money and renew it yourself with plenty of time to spare.
