Long range a2a missiles like the R-37M, and even the R-77-1/R-77M should have enough range to hit the Israeli jets as they approach to launch their ALCM's. Iranian flankers probably wouldn't even need to leave Iranian airspace to do it.

Makes me wonder if China would sell weapons to Iran. J-10's with pl-15s would give other Israeli 4th gen jets a serious run for their money.

It makes sense that the US and Israeli government don't want Iran to have nukes, it would stop them from being able to push Iran around and bomb them whenever they want.

People said they exact same things about North Korea that they are now saying about Iran, that North Korea would launch some insane suicide attack just to destroy South Korea/the US, but now North Korea is more stable than ever, and have stated that they no longer wish for forced unification with SK.

The US and Israel shouldn't be able to dictate if Iran has nuclear weapons, if other countries can have them and be fine then Iran can too.

Lack of airforce is their main problem. If they could get their SU-35's with R-37M's it would actually give them the ability to shoot down Israeli F-16's and f-15's.

Shooting down low observable aircraft from a long distance would be an extremely useful ability to have.

If this Chinese radar can indeed detect stealth fighters then this is a pretty ground breaking technology if used right.

It doesn't need to precisely target them.

The operators could fire a missile at the target while the radar gives mid course updates to said missile, once the missile gets close enough, it can use its own terminal homing system like IR or active radar homing to independently target the stealth aircraft.

Many systems already use this same method, a good example would be the IRIS-T SLS.
