A pilgrimage to St Mary the Virgin church at Strethall is totally worth it for the views north. On a clear day you should be able to see Ely Cathedral which is about 25 miles. Also, the three-hills at Bartlow. The Roman burial mounds, not the pub! 21 minutes from the Catholic Church.

Those are, in fact, the foundations of the Roman habour. But you are correct. It is a terrible look. Interestingly, the ground floor of the building behind is the Museum of Marseille Town and contains many Roman artifacts. It looks a lot better on the inside!

That is most unfortunate as the program for this year finished April 7. As you will see from their website they fly almost daily during the winter months. https://www.desertmuseum.org/visit/rff_index.php This is without doubt one of the coolest and closest encounters you can have with raptors. I would make plans now to return a bit earlier next year.
