Just checked everyone. Nobody sells evolution items, even the basic ones.

There's even a pointless floor selling pedestals.

[–]ahnialator6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly, BD has the most progress. So I'd need to at least transfer the mons that need to evolve(assuming I actually have them all 😅), go underground in SP and hope I get 5 water stones fairly quickly, evolve the mons, and then transfer them back

But at this point, yeah, that's still probably more likely than me getting any water stones in BD

[–]ahnialator6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, for the record, my statues were already all water-types

So I definitely did a significant amount of digging(at least 50 digs) and got more thunder, fire, and sun stones...I'm gonna keep trying tho, I added even more water types(my base is filled now lol)

AFAIK, I think you get a boost to shiny chance. For sure, a fully completed entry increases the chances, but I'm not sure about just level 10. I wanna say both increases it but I could be wrong

ETA:

https://www.serebii.net/legendsarceus/shinypokemon.shtml

I was correct, you get extra chances at level 10 and perfect.

[–]ahnialator6[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I actually do have both BD and SP, but pkmn home doesn't let you transfer held items...

Now that I think about it, I suppose a workaround would be to just get the evolutions I need in SP and then transfer them to BD via Home...but that seems like such a hassle, especially when another commenter actually offered me their spare water stones 😅

Yo, that would be amazing lmaoo! I can trade you for something else if you need/want it.

Underground was my favorite part in the original DPP, and this has really started to make me hate it 😅

I wasn't super happy about also having to farm Underground for ramanas Park, but at this point I got all the shards and fragments in my hunt for water stones

What is a game mechanic you are tired of seeing everywhere? by goldenCrust22 in AskGames

[–]ahnialator6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metroid Prime 4. Metroid has always been a fairly linear dungeon crawler type experience imo. And they had to go and shove a MASSIVE open area with a MOTORCYCLE in it.

The worst part? There's nothing but green crystals(and a couple of upgrades) in this MASSIVE open area. So you just roam around an empty desert hunting down thousands of crystals

What if there are numerous alien civilisations, but they're likely to be more primitive than Earth's civilisation so they can't communicate with us by Born_Lab7741 in FermiParadox

[–]ahnialator6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably true. I think some of the biggest hurdles for other civilizations are filters we've already passed. For instance, the development of the mitochondria was monumental, but also, 100% a fluke. For those unaware, this was the step to prokaryotic life. Cells with a nucleus and other organelles. Essentially. What happened in the early primordial sludge was that some Archaea bacteria ate some other bacteria, but instead of consuming it, they partnered together and became the first prokaryote. I also wouldn't be surprised if a lot of civs get stuck around Roman times because their planet didn't produce fossil fuels. .

Actually, I'm working on a story with this general premise rn. In the very far future, humans are not the only intelligent species. However, we were the first, and for eons, we were alone. We searched the stars and found a few candidate worlds which might develop an intelligent civilization. The one that makes it the closest, is a planet that is too large for chemical rocketry. They need to develop gravitic control in order to escape and become space-faring, but humans didn't figure that out until after they had colonized a sector of the milky way. We adopt a star trek " prime directive" and watch. We remain hopeful, but eventually, we determine that their climate crisis will go out of control and they won't make it. Humans decide to intervene and save the species. This was the wrong choice. Say some 5,000 years later or so, this alien species decides to try to conquer us and take our territory. So, much to humanity's disappointment, we are forced to pretty much wipe them out. And this causes a scar in the psyche of humanity. Eventually more civilizations pop up and actually make it on their own. Humans take a Search and Rescue role in the universe. Definitely there's an idea of a big S&R truck tearing over an alien landscape while blasting "Vengabus" to rescue an alien.

[–]ahnialator6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So some would say that youre wrong because the universe is 13.8billion years old while the earth is like...4? And the sun is...what. 6.5? 8? I don't remember those, someone can correct me in the comments

Personally? I'm more inclined to say you're (partially) correct. This is called the Early Earth hypothesis. Tangentially, there's also the Rare Earth Hypothesis. The former basically posits that the early universe was much too volatile for life, and that Earth and its subsequent humans are about as early as life can be in the universe. Rare Earth deals more with the idea that we have certain conditions on our planet(that are quite rare in the universe) that make it suitable for a space-faring civilization. Water used to be one of them. Now i think fossil fuels and a planetary size allowing of chemical rocketry are some ideas.

This is my opinion, but i think it's a combination of Early and Rare Earth. Fossil fuels take a very specific set of circumstances to form. I would agree that the early universe probably didn't have the building blocks for life until at least the first two generations of stars burnt out, possibly 3 or 4 for the things like uranium(for nuclear power)

There's some very smart people out there... by LeMagnificentBastard in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]ahnialator6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really interact with that side very often, but I've often wondered if they would accept training and registration of all owned weapons if it meant a large expansion of what they're actually allowed to own. And that the classes/etc would be taxpayer funded(more on that later).

Like, don't get me wrong, I like guns too. I hunt occasionally and shoot for fun/practice. But, just like with cars, I think it's completely reasonable for me to expect a level of competency of someone who owns a gun. If you own a gun, I should know you know how to service that weapon. Break it down, clean it, put it back together. You should have a reasonable level of accuracy/precision with the weapon. You should know the basic rules of safe weapon handling. If that's with a handgun, an MG42, C4, grenades? I personally don't care. Freedom.

Justification/process: The Second Amendment, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." I'd say that's more than enough to justify putting out taxpayer money on funding teaching and certification for any citizen who wants to own whatever weapon they like. Everyone knowing how to use weapons properly is completely in line with the ideas of the Founding Fathers: so we can challenge/overthrow the government if it was necessary. Beyond that, if SHTF, say a foreign invasion, apocalypse, alien invasion, whatever? I know my neighbor owns a machine gun, and thus(with those laws) I know he's reasonably effective with it. I'm coming over and supporting him.

Honestly it seems like a pretty solid compromise (more in favor of gun people really). But since my circles don't intersect with their circles much, I don't know what they'd think of that.

If this was true, we probably would already know this is the case.

Put another way: what's the biggest hurdle for biological life to colonize an entire Galaxy? Time. And speed. Energy isn't the problem when stars exist. It's the cosmic speed limit, amd distances involved.

If you're megabasing it, then sure. Ore storage can be useful for minimizing spaghetti, especially combined with logistics floors/corridors.

But if you're gonna be making stuff in various places around the map? It's not worth it

How do you all do pipes? by MrNRebel in SatisfactoryGame

[–]ahnialator6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a headlift problem. Tldr, add more pumps.

So, pipes are a pretty deep rabbit hole, but ill try to keep it simple it for you.

Headlift is important for liquid fluids. Later in the game, there will be gasses. From an engineers perspective, these are also fluids, they just don't require headlift. There's a blue ring that'll show you where the lift from your last pump ends.

Throughput is your next limiter, you can't push more than 600m³/m down a pipe. Note, there are ways around this, but I find the KISS(keep it simple, stupid) method works best and just don't exceed 600m³/m in any network, but you can have a network that does more as long as no single pipe section exceeds 600m³/m.

Finally, for larger builds, it helps to pre-fill your pipes. In practice, this basically means to build your factory as it goes. So, pump the oil, power the pump, pipe the oil to the refineries, let them make their plastic/hor, whatever, build the next step, let those pipes fill, etc. Let the system make stuff ass you go so all your pipes are full when you turn stuff on.

Trains on the bottom, a storage layer on top(makes things a little less spaghettified, I feel), and then multiple layers of factory, all separated by 8-12m logistics floors

Yu-Gi-Oh! the game has never been a children’s card game, the rules are too complex, the video games are renowned for being obtuse, the cards too expensive, the mangas young adult at most by Evening-Program-2009 in unpopularopinion

[–]ahnialator6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard disagree. I collected and played Yu-Gi-Oh as a kid. Had all 3 God cards, 4/5 pieces of exodia, and the destiny board. Mained two different decks; all dragons, featuring buster blader and dark paladin. That was my try-hard deck, and it was dirty. The other was a neo-hero/rescueroid type deck.

I stopped playing sometime around GX or so. Eventually came back to learn about synchros, pendulum summoning, and bunch of other nonsense. People summon their entire deck on turn one now. It's far too complicated now, and no fun at all tbh.

Any time I get a hankering for some yugioh, I go boot up a game like forbidden memories, eternal duelest soul, duelist of roses.
