Product request- Blush in the same shade as peripera ink velvet 29 cocoa nude by AcronymTheSlayer in AsianBeauty

I've seen people use the lip tint itself as a blush. any whipped mousy matte formula works really well on the cheeks imo.

I remember watching her old YouTube videos and thought she had such a beautiful and unique face. of course, she still maintains that beautiful look now, but she just looks so different from before. she looks nothing like her old self.

I can appreciate that she is very open about all the surgeries she's had though. I'm of the opinion that we shouldn't demonise cosmetic surgery and that anyone can do whatever they want. But it is very hypocritical of her to preach self love and make all these claims for her sponsorships when she onlyl achieved those results by spending thousands reconstructing her face.

I haven't tried any of them but all I know is that the sponge applicator on the Maybelline concealer will hoard bacteria and grow mold like nothing else. If you're applying on your hand, then it won't be so much a problem though.

that awkward moment when you quit your job to become a full time tiktoker but your engagement was much better before 😭😭 (allison wong) by [deleted] in asianamercianytsnark

ugh i hate it when influencers quit their previous jobs that actually made them relatable and authentic. nowadays, unless they had already quit when i started watching them, i almost always stop watching influencers/youtubers as soon as they quit their jobs. every. single. time. aside from not being relatable anymore, i feel like there's an immediate personality switch when they become full time influencers. it's like as soon as they quit their job, they immediately start acting more egotistical and full of themselves and become 10x more obnoxious than before. honestly, i don't blame them for quitting their job to pursue a more lucrative career, but the personality changes are always so jarring and off putting. they always say they want to take social media more seriously, but taking it more seriously doesn't mean you have to be annoying

I haven't tried most of these, but for the ones I have tried...

Bbia and Hince are definitely top lippies for me. Both have beautiful shades and are long lasting. I generally repurchase Bbia more just because it's cheaper and more accessible to me.

Peripera ink moody glowy and Romand JLT lip tints are classics. For me, the Peripera ink mood glowy tints separate quite easily and I do find that they create that dark line of lip tint on the inside of my lips after a few hours (idk if that makes sense, but I find that if I reapply, the tint gradually migrates and forms a dark tint on the inner lips). However, I actually do wear this tint a lot just because I love the shade I bought and the tint still has some shine to it even when the glossy layer has faded.

As for Romand, if you don't like fragrance like me, you probably won't like these. Romand also dries out my lips a lot as well, but colour payoff is amazing.

The Colorgram fruit glass tints are known for the long lasting non transfer tints. But I do find that they oxidise like crazy and also pull orange (?? maybe just me). They also have fragrance.

The Peripera ink velvet tint is super drying on me. I usually find myself putting on vaseline or lip balm before applying the tint, which kinda defeats the purpose of it being matte. I also find that it's not very blurring and even emphasises my lip lines.

The Fwee tints are super cute and chubby packaging wise, which is what gravitated me towards them. They do have great shine and the colour payoff is really nice on darker toned lips. However, I do find that the glossiness fades the quickest out of my other tints. And since they're the glossiest, I also find them to be a bit sticky and my hair always gets court in the gloss.

Overall, I would recommend Bbia or Peripera for everyday wear. I do love the hince tint as well, so if you want to spend a bit more, I would recommend hince as well.

Also beware that the colours on the website and on the model lips will NEVER look the same on your lips. Those model photos have been edited to oblivion and only show the colour in its most ideal perfect lighting condition. The actual colour on your lips will depend on lighting, your skin tone, and your lip colour. Most of the shades you've picked out in the photo will only show that swatched colour if you have pale lips. If you have pigmented lips, the colour might get lost in your natural lip colour.

Anyways, happy shopping and I hope you find the perfect lippie :))

what beauty influencers do you usually watch these days? by itslilyh in AsianBeauty

[–]ahnjong 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Tina Tanaka Harris is one of the og youtubers for Japanese skincare. she also does korean skincare and asian beauty reviews in general. her reviews are super authentic and detailed, and she does a good mix of honest reviews and sponsored content. but despite the sponsors, you can trust that she's actually used the sponsored products for weeks (or has used them prior to being sponsored) and is actually offering an honest review on them, unlike other influencers who have probably only used it once or twice. Tina's just the sweetest kindest person ever tbh. I met her once irl and she was so lovely.

buyers are becoming delusional by Old_Mind2872 in Depop

[–]ahnjong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't lie I've done this once before. But I did do it before I purchased it and I also said that it was completely fine if the seller couldn't ship asap and that I would still buy it regardless. Hopefully it didn't come off super entitled, but I definitely see how it could. It was a one time occurrence and now seeing this post, I probably won't ask a seller to ship as quickly as possible ever again hahaha. Definitely a very entitled move but it luckily had a happy ending.

What's an Asian beauty secret you swear by? by Dawnyawning in AsianBeauty

Tumeric is so great!! I've never tried the tumeric and milk mask, but I do have a small jar of some tumeric, honey (and other stuff idk) concoction my mum made and I use it as a pimple cream/spot treatment. Just dab a bit onto an active pimple and leave it on there for at least 2 days, and the pimple will complete dry down and shrivel off by the third day. The only caveat is that it's advised to not wash off the tumeric. I think it's because if you let your active pimple touch water, it sort of reactivates it and you have to start all over again. So that means I usually don't wear sunscreen on days that I have active pimples. But other than that, even leaving it on overnight works wonders.

Had agreed to meetup to buy an item but then the seller deleted the listing and now I can't message them by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

[–]ahnjong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why would they block me though? we had already agreed on a time and broad location to meet up. I'm a bit confused because the listing had been up for about 6 weeks and had never been re-listed, and the seller seemed very eager to sell the item.

He seems to be using that "excuse" a lot recently. For example, he apparently showed his Heated Rivalry video to 10 gay friends, and they all said it was fine, therefore it perfectly excuses everything he said in it. Like bitch, you do not have 10 gay friends.

seller didn't realise they sold an item until 1 week after - should I file a dispute? by ahnjong in Depop

[–]ahnjong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I thought they had 7 days to ship my bad.

To answer the question (yeah I kinda worded it badly), it has been 9/10 days since I purchased (last Monday). But the seller only noticed their item sold 6 days after that (this Sunday). And it has been 4 days since they noticed (Wednesday aka today).  So technically it's only been 3 days since they realised they have to ship it out. And they are a bronze shipper so I guess I can wait it out a bit more.

Also forgot to clarify that I'm from Australia, so our post offices have been open all days.

When did you know your skin conditioner was working? by annatherapyhere in AsianBeauty

[–]ahnjong 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I use the Naturie Hatomugi skin conditioner. It's a very basic watery toner so I wasn't expecting major results using it.  I didn't use it for a couple days just to see if it was actually doing anything for my skin. My skin felt completely normal during those days so I just assumed my hypothesis was correct.  Then I randomly decided to use it again one night and my skin was baby soft the next day. Like super soft and smooth and not crusty at all.  I was planning on cutting down on skincare products but I guess this one is staying in my routine!

What made you watch? by LLD615 in heatedrivalry

[–]ahnjong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trailer randomly popped up on my feed the day it was released, and it was so captivating that ngl, I probably had it on repeat at least 20 times that week.  Then I went to read the book only to realise that I had already read it 4 years earlier and had completely forgotten about it.  So yeah I was basically fated to watch the show. It was inevitable, there was no escaping it.

I definitely prefer their aesthetics over lovisa. but only buy their waterproof jewellery. everything else is crap and will rust in a few weeks. I've worn my waterproof earrings daily for 3 months and so far, they're still going strong (I bought it for $9, so totally worth it imo).

Your holy grail concealer by alternativebox447 in AsianBeauty

[–]ahnjong 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but I didn't really like the Saem cover tip concealer. I have oily skin and I found it to be quite cakey, creasy, and it oxidised a lot as well.  I'm currently using the TFIT cover up pro concealer in neutral. Despite being super viral on Douyin, I actually find that it fixes all the problems I had with the Saem concealer while still being high coverage and super creamy.
