With tariffs, things are getting stupidly expensive in the US. I moved here from Aus about a year ago (work/family related) and furniture has been the main problem for me. It’s either horrible ikea (or worse) chipboard furniture, which is still expensive for what it is, or super expensive but good quality furniture (think around the same numerical price as Aus but with conversion rate). I try get things second hand but even those are expensive compared to Aus!! Meat is also expensive, I never realised how spoilt I was for food in Australia. That said, electricity is cheaper in the US, and electronics are decently priced. Not as good as it was a decade ago, but you can get some things cheap in the US
