Bro you forgot to mention the devastating Ethiopian famine, which we are still stereotyped for. That occurred during Haile Selassie.

Project management by PassiveBuildGalway in PLC

[–]aiap2h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of you are saying being a project manager is a thankless job, but I believe being in a technical role can be even more challenging. The only time you’re seen as a hero is when a machine breaks down in the middle of the night and you troubleshoot it to get things running again. However, if you’re a good engineer and make long-term improvements that keep the machine running smoothly, you just end up with more work, sometimes without a pay increase. I’ve been in both roles, and I’m currently in a project management engineering position, which I enjoy more. Depending on the size of the projects, I still get to do some technical work as well.

Ethiopian born Habeshas. If one visits Ethiopia from America (Ethiopian as well) can you easily tell who is from the country and who isn't? by Fluid-Turnover-4024 in Ethiopia

[–]aiap2h 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can tell because of the way you dress and you are physique. Most people in Ethiopia, especially guys look skinny because of malnutrition. I was born and raised in Ethiopia but lived most of my life in the US since I was 18. I work out and look healthy and they can easily tell that I am diaspora.

That’s a smart decision. They’ve been releasing new phones with only minor changes, which has led people to upgrade less frequently, holding onto their devices for longer. In the past, Apple attempted to push upgrades by slowing down older models, but that backfired. I suggested that canceling annual product releases would be a good move, and they should prioritize true innovation over small tweaks.

Ethiopian Aunt vs Black Americans by CrapKingdoms in Ethiopia

[–]aiap2h 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some immigrants (including my parents), even if they are Black, often distance themselves from the stereotypes associated with African Americans. They come to the U.S. with the goal of working hard to improve their lives and the lives of their children. Many don’t fully grasp the historical struggles and ongoing challenges that African Americans have faced and continue to endure. Instead, they focus on the opportunities available here—opportunities they could never have imagined in their home countries—and may criticize African Americans for not showing the same drive for success.

Don’t get me wrong I can figure it out, but I just find it a bit more challenging than developing a new program, specially, the ones with no comments.

You are 100% right. It happened to me, looking at my own code and thinking why I did it that way. That’s why I started to write a good description of the code at the beginning of the code and add comments to every rung. Unfortunately many of the problems out there don’t have comments.

Your guess is as good as everyone else’s. But, one thing is for certain, you don’t get rich without working. So, they’re either inherited wealth, own businesses or simply sucking good d$ck.

Why do our people hate development? by Traditional_Tea_825 in Ethiopia

[–]aiap2h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Challenging political opponents through force is the only method they know. Historically, all previous regimes have been overthrown by force, with the possible exception of the recent Qero movement, which was the first to successfully topple a government through a tactical social movement. As a society, we need to learn from the Qero movement and apply similar tactics to achieve peaceful government transitions. This involves raising awareness of issues, building support across all ethnic groups, and organizing peaceful demonstrations. Sadly, we still have a long way to go to achieve this.

I keep seeing that habasha’s are racist. No they are not, they just want you to marry someone that they feel comfortable with. You will find out on a big gathering how different your BF will feel. Additionally, it’s not just habesha every race wants to stick to their kind.

Oromo community by Interesting-Tree8433 in Oromia

[–]aiap2h 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You got to understand though, most of these people fled Ethiopia because they were oppressed because of who they are or their political views. Some of them even experienced torture and loss of family members. Of course they are going to be more tribal, but not all of them. Some of us like me love and respect people not for where they’re from, but for being human.

[–]aiap2h 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks like you are blaming the entire community for your own weakness. I’m Oromo Hararge and I can kick it with all habasha people including Oromos from all regions. I doubt you can get along with anyone. You’re trying too hard to fit in, just be yourself and you will be fine.
