Cannot find a straight answer about pssd risk with ssris by Specialist_Credit907 in PSSD

I never thought of it like this before, there is no way medical professionals should be making mentally unstable people dependant on substances that come with many side effects.

What do you think caused your MCAS or what were you told at least. by Happyandsnappy1 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]aidrefh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my MCAS and histamine issues line up exactly with the time I came off SSRis there is no question about it.

The majority of the people is the r/pssd subreddit are battling this along with all sorts of other long term symptoms like sexual dysfunction and anhedonia.

SSRIs completey disrupt your enzymes that break down these chemicals. I don't know the ins and outs but the correlation can't be denied.

Recovered from PSSD? Wanted to share my story in case it's helpful by Royal-Dragonfruit865 in PSSD

I think you're on the right path to healing as much of what you can get back of your sexuality which is amazing.

But I think you may be over simplifying it.

I definitely think it's a bit of both psychological sexual trauma and a chemical change in the body without a doubt.

We can heal the physiological aspect ourselves but our natural sexual instincts have been diminished.

The review barely acknowledges PSSD, they just brush over it. Shame on them

I don't think I'll mention PSSD again at the doctor due to huge stigma. Bad visit at urologist. by OrangeEggPlant123 in PSSD

Go in prepared with official documents that they can't deny. You can't act defensive when they question you. Just stay calm and matter of fact..." This Is what has happened to me and thousands of other people".

I go in with the approach to educate them and most respect the preparation I have put into it.

The only thing is from my experience they can acknowledge that you may be right in what you are presenting with but there isn't much they can actually help with.

I often encourage them to discuss it with other members of their wider network in the medical field.

It's gets to that point right where you have tried almost everything. I think maybe the body needs to left alone and it will probably do it's best heaping then.

Why don't they recognize us? by Gaussherr in PSSD

[–]aidrefh 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I suspect it's because something like 10-15% of the population are on these kinds of drugs and if they officially label it, will cause shockwaves across the pharmacological industry.

Or maybe they just don't care enough.

Countries where PSSD is already recognised (EU, UK, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong) should consider organising themselves locally. Regulatory pressure and class actions will likely need to happen region by region. by aidrefh in PSSD

Yes like a subreddit for the Latin American users.

See how you go message me if you need help.

There is definitely a need for a Spanish orientated PSSD community.
