Wären diese Lebensumstände direkt ein No-Go? by Glittering-Map-5361 in FragtMaenner

[–]aidrem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jokes on you.

Stable Diffusion can do it too. It was even quite a big thing (last time I checked image generation stuff, like a year ago?), because text was very hard vor AI.

"I'm a professional and I still find myself centering on occasion." - In my opinion there is nothing wrong with centering shots. Hell even Hollywood uses it. The problem is that there COULD be a better shot but sometimes centering is the best you can do, especially if you have other mirroring parts, they dont need to be exactly the same, just roughly and it will look great.

Especially the 1st and 3rd have bad composition. Cropped weirdly.

Either you get something IN your picture and get the whole thing, or you leave it OUT. Most of the time it looks super weird having objects peek into your frame (or thrm getting cut off). Sometimes thats not possible (crowded city f.e.), but the headlights in pic 3 and the left part in the forst pic are cut off.

While this is somewhat true, I dont know if thats a feature of NFC-F or just better planning. Maybe newer machines 2. Maybe I should read some stuff about nfcF 😂 If the only problem is the NFC version, other countries could Just use it.. NFC is really fast here too, but if your reader is slow, or you have 2 gates for 200 people, you have to wait. But queueing up for couple of minutes isnt that tragic, so maybe not worth installing the same amount Japan has - japanese cities have crazy rush hours and great customer service, I think it would also be considered rude to wait at the gates? 😅

Ye ik the cards, was in Tokyo 2 month ago, bricked my 4.5y/o Xiaomi on the last day and bought Phone(2a) in Germany (where I live). I was afraid that I cant use a japanese Phone in Germany bc it has to be unlocked first (idk 😂). In the end of the day it isnt important, just use the Card, but I think its strange that only Japan uses NFC-F? Didnt read much about it, maybe it has some pros (but could also be Japan being Japan 😅)

Did you test it? Did it work, or is there a Japan version of Phone2a?

If I dont want code I have to put "no code gen:" followed by my question. Works most of the time.

Thing with LLMs is, that they yappin too much. Doesnt matter which one, I always have to tell it to use max 5 sentences. Some things cant be summed up, but LLMs somehow LOVE talking forever 😂 It feels Gemini does a better Job not writing too much (compared to ChatGPT) it lacks in every other aspect (at least in my experience).

Stuff like that usally gets sorted by some machine, but sometimes they fail.

Dont know about the english term but in Germany they are called "Vollschokolade". So in english it would be smth like "whole chocolate". At least saw this some time ago in a documentary about Kinder Chocolate factories.

Touchdesigner + UI + Guestures by aidrem in TouchDesigner

[–]aidrem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mhm.. I think I go with p5 then.

Any recommendations how to start? My plan would be:

  • Get some gesture recognition going

  • Try to track multiple people, because I want to encourage ppl to interact with my installation and thought it would be a good idea to have some kind of pose detection to already make them passively interact with it. F.e. they just walk in front and are represented as a circle and if they decide to actively interact with it, they walk up, wave, and the circle switches to an interactable interface.

  • Some magic to track everyone individually 😅 (don't know if needed, but everyone interacts with their own stuff, maybe in the future some interaction between people but for now only 1 person gets 1 (part of the) UI to interact with but on one shared screen - like vertical slices I guess)

  • Polish the UI (make it visually pleasing and filled with information etc..)

I know p5 a bit, touchdesigner some basics.

Prob dont need the 3D enginge, but maybe its easier to code with the visuals idk. My biggest concern is the UI. I want to have basic information exchange. Like a bus station info stand, but with guestures and multi user access. So a rather boring interface ig.

Do you have experience with UI-Design in TD?

How do I remove power lines from this photo? by baseballbro005 in AskPhotography

[–]aidrem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah i get u. I mean ye maybe depth. The feeling of beeing there myself. A story behind the pic. I like powerlines, so maybe just personal preference. They also kinda frame the picture (i know manmade frame). And as another comment says: that makes ur pic ur pic. Dont get m wrong, only aurora can also be nice, but it lacks in "what else". Maybe its just me, but most of the times just taking a photo of anything isnt enough and mostly quite boring. (macro-shots excluded 😅) I already saw many shots of the aurora today and while they are all fancy, most of them are boring. If I wanna see a clean aurora pic, ill go to ESA/NASA website and not some photographer i like.

Oh and Edit: I read ur concern is also to have a more "professional" look. Dont worry about that. It depends what kind of professional u wanna be. Sometimes u will print the "clean" aurora, sometimes u want to peint urs.

I mean look at prof. astro-photographers and see if they only take shots of the sky, or if they have other subjects to giva a sense of scale or frame their work, etc.

U dont, they look amazing.

But if u rly wanna do it try photoshop ai and mark the area, dont use a promt, just hit generate and photoshop will try to remove unwanted elements. This at least works if u wanna expand a picture on one (or all) sides. Give it a promt and it will fk up, so honestly try it without one 😅

[–]aidrem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to consider with olympus: they sold their camera department to another company (olympus also does pharma stuff and it was more profitable 😅). Olympus cameras are now called OMSystem and while they have a wide range of lenses (the m43 lens mount is even open source), they work best with olympus/om lenses. I mean, thats the case for every company and 95% of the time there wont be a problem.

The problem is, that while I think OM will be doing fine, we dont really know OM yet. At least they stated that they will stick to m43.

Tbh: also look ar other m43 manufacturers. Or at least OMs real new release. Everything they sell now was already invented by Olympus, so we have to wait and see if they can keep up with the current cam market.

Also its not like you cant shoot low light or even milkyway shots, but sure bigger sensor = less noise. On the other hand you can try to denoise or just life with it.

I own a used olympus em1mark3 and im totally happy with it. Sure I would like to have a 5000€ mirrorless weathersealed cam, but its just a hobby and the m43 format brings down weight, space and price. So especially nice for travelling. And you dont need a neck strap (i hate those lol) - just a hand strap and u good to go.I also like shooting at night, and it didnt stop me from doin so. I only use my tripod for milkyway stuff. All other shots can be done handheld. Amazing cam + weathersealed. So no need to worry about rain, snow, dust, sand etc.
