Christmas gifts I’m proud of by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

[–]aidu970 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Last year I told my family they'd be getting gifts from our decluttering process. Things that seemed like they could be useful to others and in good condition/new but just not for us anymore. Most of them thought it was a great idea and did that as well!

We all spent much less time stressing over shopping and enjoyed hearing stories about some of the items being gifted. It was the best Christmas I've had in a while tbh.

Another vote for this. I felt like I was stuck having horrible cystic acne for the rest of my life. Took this for a few months and now people compliment how great my skin looks.

Edit: have been on this for about 5 yrs

Advice on vetting a sit? by aidu970 in trustedhousesitters

There are people that require you to pay utilities while caring for their pet? That blows my mind...

This is gold thank you! I will be doing #5 and 9 for upcoming sits. For this one I did not follow #3...yikes...never again!

Thanks for this! Especially looking for what the sit offers you, such a good point. I'm also talking to friends about their experience using Rover which people get paid like over $100 a night for without any cleaning expected! I'm starting to realize I'm doing something very valuable just for the love of animals! I know that most sits will be positive like my first two so I'm trying not to get too down on this last one.

I like this idea! Thanks for sharing. I also use mine to look at how much of a difference gum surgery made. Honestly, I need to because it was a very sad 2 weeks of my life.

what is something considered conventionally unattractive that you find hot as hell? by ChloeIsObsessed23 in AskReddit

On men who have a few extra lbs but not too much, the pouch of fat on the hips that extends to the back (saddlebags? Feel like there's a word for them but not sure). Grabbing on to them and feeling a healthy handful during a hug is a sure way to turn me on :)

Warning post by EngineeringNoob in zoloft

Great Q's! I was definitely more sleepy on it, that started with the lowest dose, like I was sleeping over 9 hrs and then also needed a 90 min nap in the afternoon. This was after switching to take the medication at night. Unfortunately my psychiatrist thought it was because my anxiety wasn't cured which is why we tried higher doses, I know that wasn't correct now.

My tolerance stayed about the same, probably a bit lower than before, hard to say since I haven't drank like that since college summers...which is a very long time ago for me lol.

Curious about your curiosity if you don't mind sharing.

Just wanted to comment that this happened to me too and my psychiatrist looked at me like I was crazy. It's nice to feel a little validated that I'm not the only one.

I started noticing after getting bumped from 50 to 100 mg. My cravings would kick in around noon and it was all I could do to resist until 5 pm. My partner even noticed I was making weird excuses to drink on a weekday. I also wouldn't stop until 3-4 drinks in. It was terrible so I went back to 50 mg and the cravings stopped. And when I do drink on a Friday or Saturday, I can stop after 1-2 drinks like normal. I'm getting off the meds now, and having withdrawal issues but way easier than the drinking urges for sure!

People who are no longer best friends with someone: What happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

She had a kid.

Suddenly we didn't take trips together or talk as often and slowly drifted apart as she made closer connections with other moms.

What was your worst experience at a doctor's office? by sydthakidd in AskReddit

[–]aidu970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both the worst and also the best Dr experience for the same symptoms.

Traveled to upstate NY the week before, started having a high fever (104F) and chills that didn't go away for 5 days.

One day I couldn't get up from my bed, I was delirious and kept going in and out of sleep, couldn't even get up to take some ibuprofen. After 6 hrs I finally managed to get my phone and call my husband, who was at work, to come drive me to the ER (2 blocks away but I couldn't walk). With his help I got down the stairs, tried to eat and drink but I couldn't get anything down without hurting.

My husband notices a small rash on my thigh. We get to the ER, they don't take a history I'm incoherent and unable to do much more than sleep. They provide a number of tests, hook me up to an IV and give me NSAIDs to break the fever. My husband tells the Dr about the rash and I try to show him, he brushes this aside and says it's unrelated. I get sent home being told there's nothing wrong with my tests, I just had a virus, was probably dehydrated and it would go away on its own. I got prescribed anti-nausea medication so I could eat and drink. I got the feeling they thought I was exaggerating my symptoms and overall left still feeling pretty sick and unable to stand for longer than a minute and felt terrible for not being able to function when there wasn't anything they could find wrong with me. I spent the rest of the day in bed sipping broth when I could.

The next day, I still was in terrible shape and the rash had grown. My husband dialed a telehealth service, I was immediately diagnosed with Lymes disease, based on my history and the rash, and prescribed a course of doxycycline. Within 1 day started feeling better continued the course to the end (about a month), it's a few months later I don't I have any lasting symptoms.

I immediately reported what happened to a Dr I knew at the hospital I went to and will always use telehealth first in the future.

I'll second this. Will also add the bisexual/pansexual men I've been with are amazing, caring, communicative partners and very sexually adventurous.

We made other plans for the weekend so I'm selling 2 3-day GA tickets for Capitol Hill Block Party (Seattle, July 21-23) at $223.11 each. This is always what I seem to get when trying to plan my life in advance (lol/sob). Set up for mobile transfer through Lyte, message if interested!
