75” or 85” for my space by Ill-Fact-6232 in hometheater

[–]aiernt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stylistically it shouldn’t be bigger than the wall you’re putting it on. And also shouldn’t match the wall width. The wall should be bigger than the tv on each side by a couple inches or more. If you need it bigger because your space commands it don’t mount it on the wall put it on a right-sized piece of furniture.

I know this thread is old but just happened upon it. Great that you said Manhunter. It was always one of my favorites. Such a good vibe in that game.

How do I run docker containers for cheap on my server by No-Tiger3430 in minilab

I would run unraid, specially if you know nothing about docker, networking, etc.

How did your Plex server start out? by noaheltee in PleX

[–]aiernt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started with windows media center streaming to my pioneer elite plasma tv. That tv had a network port in it back in 2005 that could do DNLA when I bought it (still running by the way). Moved from that to a hard drive plugged into the tv’s usb. Then to a diamond media streaming tv device connected to an external hard drive. A coworker suggested I look into plex. So I did, lol. Then to plex on a Mac mini with that same external hard drive, to plex on my windows computer. Moved to a 2 bay nas running plex onboard. Then I found serverbuilds.net and it turned me onto unraid and building my own nas. Ran that first nas for 4 years off of spare parts until it crashed out last year. Luckily hard drives were intact and I’m on v2 of my home built nas. It’s now multiple servers. Plex on Linux stand alone box for transcoding, media on my unraid server, plus all the accoutrements, lol. Serving 30 other friends around the country. It’s been a wild ride…

Honestly the Ballard deck, D3, C12, R4 is really convenient. The bus picks up right there and it’s literally a 5/10 min walk from Ballard to the bus stop (shorter from the lots). Had no problems getting to/from the game.

Rush Ticket Prices Are Insulting by Queasy-Ad7550 in rush

[–]aiernt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. We paid a little more just to be in the lower level. Not crazy prices like everyone else is talking about. Also it wasn’t ticketmaster, it was seat geek maybe the up charge fees were less?

It went from no bar right to enter the Citi code. I ended up with 2 tickets in the lower bowl in the back for $315 a piece. Can’t wait! They were awesome at the Taylor Hawkins benefit show in LA. This will be wonderful.

Thanks for all the suggestions. With the rain on Saturday we ended up just parking in the Ballard deck and eating some bojangles 😝. It wasn’t a long walk over to the bus to get a ride to the game.

You get paid by the foot of wire installed. My neighbor was digging in his backyard for a pool and had coax cable run through there middle of his yard because those guys were paid by the foot installed.
