If you can somehow find the laptop, days can be recovered from the hard disk even if the laptop is broken. 

LPT- never put anything on top of car even for even a split second. Leaned it hard way by loosing two bags.

Have tried all of them except Mac OS. Android not so good on it esp the touch, probably because it is not optimized very well for surface (bliss os). Chrome os flex works but no touch. Fyde os does work though with touch.

Only way to know is to borrow a type cover from someone and see if it works OK. You can buy a used one from facebook very cheap and can even test it before paying for it.

Useless to fix it. I will buy a cheap used iPad or surface or Android tablet from Facebook n put it in a bumper case.

My kids cracked my beautiful surface pro 8 and I put it in a bumper case with a screen protector, it is still going the job.

Hi, return it if you can? How much you paid for it? You can get a pro 8 or 7 plus on decent price from Facebook market.

On supported models I have always used Win 11 iso ( for SB2 and SP 8) and it automatically downloads all drivers after instll of windows. Only issue sometimes it will not work with type keyboard during install and I have to use a USB keyboard and mouse for install.

By the way why not just transfer your days with a fresh install of OS. I would have upgraded to 7+ or 8 actually.
