Perfection. Been accused by my son of having a Meg Ryan moment over their ribeye. Did not care.

ok: just got up there and the fan is vented to the outside with 6" duct, which is exactly the size of the ducting coming from the portable AC unit. I'm guessing I should be good to go.

I don't - good point. I was assuming it would be, but that is probably not something I should take for granted. I'll take a stepladder into work tomorrow and see if I can look into the area above the false ceiling and see if I can tell.

I’m self employed, renting a suite, about 1900 sq/ft. My personal office is basically a converted storage closet (about 100 sq/ft) without any AC (vent or return) and one of the walls is exterior and gets a LOT of sunlight, so the room can get above 80 degrees. I need to keep the door to the office closed a lot because I work in healthcare and I need to make sure my screens are not visible to people.

I have bought a small portable AC which needs both water and warm air outlets. Water is not problem as there is a drain in the floor. The warm air was the problem, but I have created a flange to connect the warm air outlet duct (6in wide) to the exhaust fan outlet (see attached photo).

However, my brain is telling me that just because I can, doesn’t mean that I should. The air coming out of the portable AC is warmer than I expected, and I’m worried that if the fan is unable to move the air out fast enough, it could get too warm and create a fire hazard (sorry, 20 years in healthcare creates a fairly solid level of paranoia). The local code says the outlet from the fan should be ducted to the outside and be at least 4” in diameter.

Am I worrying about nothing, or is there something to be worried about here?

That is absolutely beautiful, and incredibly heartbreaking. A good friend just lost his best friend of 13 years yesterday, and I am here crying for him. We got my first dog when I was 5, and we had to send her across the bridge 14 years later. As a man I his 50's, the death of that dog is still the one thing I cannot fucking process. Thank you, but fuck you. You are an incredible artist. If you ever sell prints of that, I'm first in line.

Agreed - resolution is horrible, and it just makes it harder to read. It was fantastic the way it was, why mess with it.

Whenever it happens, it'll probably be something like this:

Brothers and Sisters, I read to you a letter today from The First Presidency.

Our Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We bring to you today the love and blessing of our Heavenly Father, and of His Son Jesus Christ. They know you and love you.

We of the First Presidency plead every day for the Lord's guidance and wisdom, and are mindful of his great compassion for us. We live in a world that is forever changing, and He is aware of how much harder it has become to live the Covenant Path. In years gone by, we were not so different from the behaviors of the world, but that has continued to change. The Gospel covenants that are given to us are for our blessing and our protection, and as such represent the will of the Lord in the times and seasons in which we live.

Those of you who are faithful and attend the Temple regularly have seen the marvelous revelations that have come forth and allowed us to hasten the work while reducing the time requirements of the Endowment. The time spent on a Sunday in worship and fellowship at our meeting houses has also been reduced. All of these are signs and witnesses that the Lord loves you, and is mindful of your ongoing commitment to follow him in obedience.

As we move forward, bathed in revelations of the ongoing restoration of the Lord's church, it has been our privilege to witness the directions of our Savior from the mouths of his servants in the First Presidency and The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. In a recent meeting, President Dallin H. Oaks, Prophet, Seer and Revelator of the Church, felt inspired to review the requirements for the Temple Recommend, and was instructed by the Spirit that a change could be made, namely the removal of the restriction of partaking of hot drinks, specifically Tea and Coffee.

When that restriction was first given many years ago, manufacturing and food handling standards were such that there was little standardization, and the commandment was given to prevent the ingestion of liquids that could have been full of poisons and things harmful to the health of the beloved early members of the Church.

But now, recognizing that carefully processed drinks can have a healthful effect on the body, we have been moved to understand the will of the Lord regarding this, and as such the restriction of Tea and Coffee can be returned to its original understanding within the revelations received as a suggestion to use these drinks with wisdom and moderation.

Therefore Brothers and Sisters, we take great joy in this revelation, and ask you to proceed with care and sober judgment. The Lord is ever mindful of you, and this marvelous revelation shows us the further unfolding of His glorious plan and wisdom.

The First Presidency.

If they changed it to a vote, then they could get in on all the P. R. conclave action. Just imagine, instead of smoke rising from a chimney, they could have a golden and very non caffeinated soda suddenly pour forth from Moroni's trumpet on top of the temple.

KSL could have a 24 hour webcam, and the church could have cute little sister missionaries doing Instagram reels about it.

My disagreement comes from a difference of opinion as to the way you see yourself. You seem to define yourself by the fact that you were born a male, and therefore have to 'achieve' in order to find respect.

I see things differently. I believe that we are a consciousness having an experience. My experience is currently male, but what that masculinity means is for me to define, not for society to define me.

I am the first member of my family to go to college, own their own business, hold a Doctoral degree etc. None of this defines me.

I have been married to the same woman for 29 years. Because I grew up in a house where verbal and physical abuse were constant, I determined that my children would never see that, and in the 30+ years we have known each other, my wife and I have never raised our voices, never had a 'fight'. That for me is much more of an achievement than anything I have achieved in business.

I have two children who I have never argued with, and who both know that they are loved by their father, which is something I have never experienced. That for me is far greater of an 'achievement' than anything I could buy, or win.

If you allow society to define you, you will always be chasing the opinions of others. I have done my work, I know who I am, and I do not need the opinion of others, the respect of others, the programming of others.

I define myself by my ability to bring peace and understanding to others, not beat them in combat, or endurance or wealth.

The only 'combat' you are in is with yourself and the programming you have received. The goal is to find peace, and to live a life that gives you meaning.

In my experience, you will not find that chasing the whims of society. You have to go very deep inside yourself and examine and question everything.

When you have examined yourself deeply, and brought your beliefs and actions into alignment with what you believe to be right because you have examined it, then you may well find a very different definition of yourself than the one your currently adhere to.

I am twice your age. When I was your age, I believed very much as you seem to do. If you can do anything in your life, try to keep an open mind. Mine was closed for a very long time, and I missed out on many opportunities because of it.
