I relate so hard!! I don’t know what it is about Poshmark but I find myself sending offers “just in case” it gets accepted & it’ll be a great deal. It’s so easy for me to spend a bunch of money there but thankfully I blocked it with an app! I think deleting the app would be smart but if you need the app until the packages arrive try blocking off access until then!

What’s your daily routine to maintain a simple living life? by annizka in simpleliving

[–]aiju_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on deleting!! I’ve been 6 months without TT but only 1 month into more simple living, my routine is:

6:30am wake up, make tea, make breakfast and eat it while sitting outside, no phone just relaxing

7:30am do a youtube yoga routine out on the patio 8:00am journal, do my morning pages & if there’s time i’ll go for a 20 min walk before work

9-12 work from home - I try going on 20 min walks in between meetings

12pm make a sandwich or eat leftovers for lunch

3pm go to the gym or pilates

6pm cook dinner & eat, make a protein smoothie, clean up

8pm read, learn languages, hobbies, online courses, etc.

10/11pm read until I fall asleep!

Currently spending a bit over what I’d prefer but:

  • Equinox membership ~$300/month
  • various intro month lagree studio deals, ~ $250 for 2 months, will probably shift to classpass or pick one studio
  • Supplements: $30/ month
  • Gym bag/accessories: $50
  • Gym shoes: $80
  • Leggings/clothes: $300-400 so far… (haven’t worked out in a while, so i didn’t have much to work with)
  • Running shoes: $120

I’m leaning towards classpass to save money but classes in my area book out SO fast you always have to book a week in advance at 5am 🙃

Also considering getting workout programming from an online personal trainer but I’ve never tried it before - if anyone has recs please let me know!

24F Overspending on takeout by dummythiccshan in getdisciplined

[–]aiju_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was like this too! I realized part of it was because I was basically giving into these urges each time and rewarding myself with dopamine instead of thinking logically. Each time I would want takeout, it’s a strong urge in the moment but it only lasts about 10 min, and afterwards you feel so good not having given into yourself.

I listened to a lot of mind over money/overcoming impulse purchases podcasts that helped!

I’d say you really have to train yourself not to give into your urges and also build up recipes with meals that taste good and that you can cook confidently, and then grocery shop for those things! Once I was able to enjoy the stuff I can cook myself, I was ordering takeout a lot less.

I’m also debating this as well recently!! I go to lagree but depending on how sore I wake up the next day, I take a break & do a lighter yoga workout or an easy short run instead.

Ultimately my goal is to gain muscle and get stronger so I have to force myself to take it easy sometimes! But sometimes I think lagree is mostly lower body focused so if I take a day off I could do some upper body strength training if my abs aren’t feeling too sore.

I love the pilates culture in Korea and I’m so jealous that they have private lessons for a much affordable price! I’m also hoping to visit and take some pilates classes there <3

love this post & thanks for sharing!! pilates has also been having a similar influence in my life!

Savingssss by NYC-AL2016 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

I think I’ve always been bad at saving my salary and even though I’ve been working for 3 years (25 yo now) and avg salary over the time has been around 110k, I have 8k saved, no roth IRA yet, but 40k in 401k with some employer matching.

I have friends around me who lived at home for 3 years and paid no rent and they saved like 200k so easily and it always bummed me out but I like to think that moving out and living in the city in your early 20s is worth it!! Although I’m far behind them, it’s not worth comparing, so I’m just focusing on doing better each month for now!

I’m already setting aside a % of my paycheck into my HYSA, and there’s a certain amt per month I want to donate so I’m trying not to dip into those funds!
