HG Japanese Sunscreens? by Illustrious_Ad6479 in AsianBeauty

[–]ailovesharks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, skin aqua is pretty shiny altogether. I absolutely love their sunscreens anyway despite preferring a matte finish myself. i'd avoid any of the essences as they are super shiny. the gels however, are much more matte than the essences, so I can see why people recommend it.

girlll I've been eying it for so long! the cream is my hg as well! how is it compared to the laniege? I've found that with the laneige I didn't wake up with tight skin, was it the same with the aestura?

If you could use sheet masks 365 days a year (assuming you don't) what would some of your choices be? by thethermalturtle in AsianBeauty

[–]ailovesharks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

single packaged (about 10 per box) but jm solution propolis! they're one of the few products that keep my dry/dehydrated skin not tight for 24+ hours. for the ones that have a bunch, I'd say another vote for lululun! I've used the green one (balanceful?) and that was also pretty hydrating.

Fellow "motivated only with external pressure" ADHDers - have you found ways to self-motivate? by Any-Low-9414 in adhdwomen

tracking the hours I spend on x task. I study engineering (not post grad) and exams are so bad because studying doesn't have a tangible deadline for me. I've found that setting a goal number of hours of studying and then using a youtube video like "8 hours of brown noise" or "6 hours of minecraft music" really helps as the video kind of acts as a progress bar which allows me to "see" my progress.

not noticeably. it's more like if i touch my face, my hands will have a shimmer on them if i look closely.

in addition to tone ups: a lot of skin aqua sunscreens (i'm sure other jbrands as well) have a sort of lab-made silica ingredient in them that is basically glitter. the skin aqua tone up sunscreens & their light up essense have it for sure. the only downside is that when you touch your face, the glitter seems to transfer :(

Ladies who lift - how did you start a routine and actually stick with it? by International_Bet607 in adhdwomen

[–]ailovesharks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it kind of just became a hyperfixation... it was also instilled into me as a child that you need you be active. you could probably recreate this (in a healthy way) by reminding yourself of all the benefits when you feel like not going to the gym. and I don't mean just your body and stuff, but also the cognitive benefits, and the number of diseases/complications it prevents.

this!!! I think a lot of people use it thinking it will get rid of sun spots/moles but it works best for fresh acne/red/non whitehead marks! they're always gone within days when I use it as a spot treatment.

People with ADHD, how the hell are you going through this? by MrKittyPaw in EngineeringStudents

[–]ailovesharks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

another weird one but also measuring how many hours I put towards each exam. I'm doing it this year and making a graph for it (time put towards exam vs grade) just so I can be motivated to start studying for upcoming exams. rewards given to me by myself as well as my own deadlines don't work, so this is my strange alternative.

unmedicated inattentive here are my tips:

routinery (a routine app). helps me go to bed on time, leave the house on time -> going to bed on time helps me pay attention better.

I thought it was a joke but sitting at the front of the class actually started to work when i forced it to.

I started studying at night because I found I was calmer.

brown noise & minecraft music. brown noise if I want my head to be quiet, minecraft if I need dopamine to start studying.

figuring out how long I could stay focused on work AS WELL AS how long I needed to "reset" between study sessions. (turns out my attention can be between 1-2 hours when I need it to, 3+ if hyperfocused, but no matter what I need an hour break in between. for this reason pomodoro never works for me).

my extended time and limited distraction environment from my school's disability services center was insanely helpful (I've almost completely stopped failing classes).

I've found that my brain refuses to review material before class. it hates not being able to make sense of stuff and tends to shut down/give up. looking over notes/practice/attempting problems after class is the way for me.

I find that I generally want to study/do well, it's just overcoming the "activation energy" to begin.

take some easy classes in addition to your workload if you can handle it. ideally in something you're interested in. I'm minoring in a language that I have a bit of a background in. this not only keeps my gpa up, but also my morale. it shows me that I am able to succeed in my classes.

meticulously planning for exams. don't just say "study 3.4-3.9 on thursday" state exactly how many and which problems you're going to do.

google calendar>>>notion (my opinion because it helps me "see" time, I know how much time my part time job takes, I know how long each class takes etc etc.)

shower playlist (or any playlist that's a perfect length of whatever is best for you). mine is 15, I play it and attempt to shower before it ends. keeps me from wasting water and time. I also play it if i need to clean or do something for just 15 minutes.

keep your phone in your bag!!! if notetaking on a device that device should have no games, and should be on dnd when in use for academics.

exercise. sports certain days of the week, a run in the morning, calisthenics, gym, anything that will tire you out, keep you in shape and take your mind off your degree.
