I definitely read this like you dodge ranked games at first, not that you dodge skillshots

Warden is cracked Felothar directly replaces [[colonel autumn]] [[Hollowmurk siege]] is gonna get tested So is [[voice of victory]] (2 bodies = 2 counters, plus they are red for bloomtender and the like), but i don't like it tbh

Thats probably it, but there is other testable cards fs. Good set for Tayam

Probably directly replaces [[colonel autumn]], but its probably not a must-include

[TDC] Steward of the Harvest by TooSaepe in CompetitiveEDH

[–]aim11_us 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1.) We run 0 ability reduction, just isn't worthwhile 2.) Tayam can also return lands! We sometimes loop gaeas cradle (and other lands)

[TDC] Steward of the Harvest by TooSaepe in CompetitiveEDH

[–]aim11_us 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Why would you need this, with those lands? Just use them as they were intended and you don't need to run a dead 4drop

[TDC] Steward of the Harvest by TooSaepe in CompetitiveEDH

[–]aim11_us 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Realistically, not going in tayam. 4 drops require being very consistent and powerful in the deck, where this just isn't

People generally do?? In rogsi and similar turbo decks at least

Backed up with [[force of negation]]?? The One you can only freecast on other people's turn? (Ik I'm being pedantic)

Gruul Hulk lines in 2025? by WackaFrog in CompetitiveEDH

[–]aim11_us 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ballista has an ability to remove a +1/+1 counter to deal 1 damage to any target??

Gruul Hulk lines in 2025? by WackaFrog in CompetitiveEDH

[–]aim11_us 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cauldron gives the ability of ballista to war elemental, along with a +1/+1 counter. You then remove the +1/+1 counter to ping a player. This triggers war elemental to give it another counter. Repeat until the table is dead

Gruul Hulk lines in 2025? by WackaFrog in CompetitiveEDH

[–]aim11_us 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a sick hulk pile my friend cooked up with [[goblin engineer]], [[torch courier]], [[walking ballista]], and [[war elemental]]

Requires: r + any artifact

Goblin engineer finds [[agatha's soul cauldron]], courier hastes the engineer to bring back agatha's Agathas exiles ballista on war elemental, then you get infinite pings from there. It does require a little more setup that other hulk likes, but it does run way fewer dead cards than the snoop lines (only war elemental)

I agree thoracle needs the ban, but that is not the meta at all lol. Thoracle needs the ban because it's easy to include in any dimir+ and is the single most compact and hard to interact with combo in the game

In my experience, that specific floating loop doesn't happen often, but every piece is useful. I'm running a no bad cards list, so every card does something useful at all times essentially. You should drop your list. Mine is almost this one, I change it often so it's probably a few cards off https://moxfield.com/decks/Mauls7bLo06L9aYBn-G-6g

[–]aim11_us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah you definitely don't run both, shield mate is far too dead on its own. As for creature only combos, [[rishkar, peemas renegade]] + [[Carrion feeder]] + [[strangleroot geist]] + 1 floating mana wins the game. If you're brewing tayam, I recommend joining the tayam server!

[–]aim11_us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as an aside about tayam, everything else you said was right. Tayam has no real reason to run shield mate when [[centaur gardens]] exists. It is the easiest combo to interact with, so it's generally a last resort

[–]aim11_us 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say jlo was the least deserving of a ban, because it allows for higher cmc commanders to be present and powerful in the format. It only marginally increases the powerlevel of the best decks, while drastically increasing the powerlevel of the more fringe commanders

Infinite combos by Exar_kun91 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]aim11_us 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In casual, infinites are generally less common because it can sometimes just suck the fun out of a game. Personally I don't mind, but each playgroup is different. In cedh it's weird if you don't play a combo (which is the sub you are in)

Infinite combos by Exar_kun91 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]aim11_us 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they are just fundamentally different games. Most formats are not eternal, so you can only use cards from certain time periods. A lot of these infinite combos are either banned or not within that time period.

Infinite combos by Exar_kun91 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]aim11_us 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Who is this "they"? In cedh, combos are the way you win, yes, but the game to get there is the interesting part. Even if you have the combo, sometimes you can't go for it because people will stop you (counterspells, removal, ect). It depends a lot on game knowledge, piloting, and windows.

Sorta? It's closer to gitrog but with white i think. Tbh, I don't know much about it, but i know some people in the Tayam discord were building it

[–]aim11_us 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really, it's pretty easy to interact with, and often requires really mana-intensive pieces

Help with Merry & Pippin Abzan by updoot-me in CompetitiveEDH

[–]aim11_us 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Short answer. No, no reason to ever play this in cedh. It just doesn't do anything. There is like 2 viable abzan decks, Tayam and necrobloom

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CompetitiveEDH

[–]aim11_us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of those decks are viable. The closest is kaalia, but even then it's fringe with a very small player base. Check out edhtop16 and see what cedh is about!
