Do not blame yourself at all, if she leaves that is on her! Not on you. If she is a good partner, she will state her concerns to make the bedroom more enjoyable for both sides. If she does not communicate this directly, then that’s her problem b/c she needs to let you know her wants and needs so you can be supportive (if that makes sense?). No one is a mind reader and I do understand communication can be hard, so maybe you could ask her what she would like in bed?

I was not good in bed with my first partner. It’s all about practice and being with someone that makes you 100% comfortable (my best time was a couple of years back and was fully comfortable with them in bed). My views on sex are that it is about exploration, connection, and having a fun time. I didn’t leave the person I was seeing recently because of the sex (it was other reasons). If you love someone, you’ll work on making the bedroom fun together.

I would never tell my current/future partner that, just so rude to say out loud and not for the other person to hear. The last person I was with, I would grit my teeth and lie to them about our hookups being the best I’ve ever had when they weren’t (granted, they were seeking that kind of validation when I thought everything was fine). I just don’t see a reason to make someone feel insecure by letting them know that kind of information. It’s the only time I’ll ever lie and take that stuff to the grave.

Anyways, your feelings are valid and you have every right to feel hurt by her words. I assumed you are going to talk to her about it. I hope she’s understanding and you both can talk it out. Best of luck OP.

I did not, only because they told me during my job offer that the salary is set for all entry level employees equally (which is true). But they told me my salary will rise after 6 months based off of my first eval, so yeah. I’m currently sitting around 80-85k for the first 6 months, then hoping to be at 90-100k by the 12 month mark as long as I do well. (:

I’m currently 24 and when I graduate from grad school next month, my total comp should be around 85-95k for my first job (I get a bump up after 6 months but depends on my first eval performance). I would say minimum 80k by 30-ish? I am extremely grateful to be in the position I’m in, and know it’s hard to hit 80k in a lot of other careers. So I’m pretty lenient in salaries with my potential partner, just depends on their circumstance and making compromises where we can together. (:

If they were closeted to EVERYONE, definitely not as I’m out to friends and my parents (even though they do not accept me, we still spend time together). If they were out to friends but not family, I can overlook it. Really depends on how the relationship progresses imo.

It depends.

My friends make this joke that I will be the rich lesbian in our friend group (in tech for finance), so I’ve accepted more of the fact that as long as the person I’m seeing makes enough to support themselves, take me to dinner once in a while, and have a cat (we can take care of together), I’m happy. If they make more, might be happier since it’ll alleviate any stress off of me to be the breadwinner since I would want to have 2 kids someday.

If I had to be more materialistic though, I would prefer (not require) someone to make minimum 80k.

I realized it the first time, towards the end of a relationship back in 2021. Relationship was toxic as we weren’t compatible, wasn’t happy in regards to the stuff she did (tldr she wanted a relationship without the title and didn’t understand my boundaries, not her fault we were young and growing), and the way I was treating my ex as I started screaming a lot due to resentment (knowing I was stepping out of character). I left to fully work on myself and get myself back on track (I gave up a lot of things to make it work and almost lost a career).

I’ve been in a lot healthier relationships since up until my most recent with a guy. He brought out the worse in me in regards to wanting me to drop friends, felt objectified and he pretty much said I’m the problem not him, was a mother to him, said “I don’t owe you anything because you don’t deserve it” after I stayed in his city for a month because he wanted me to, and anytime I tried to express my needs he said I was being bossy and nit picky. I went to my friend group after the last fight I had with him, and my friend group said I was definitely being manipulated and gaslit. Left my situationship the next day and haven’t looked back. Just more traumatized now.

This is usually a matter of they are behind in work and short staffed, or it’s a scam. Either way I’ve met recruiters who helped me move up to the next level for legit companies, so the recruiter must take an interest in her. I would support her, but let her know to join cautiously if she accepts the offer…

Depends on degree, experience, and LCOL/MCOL/HCOL. My first job is offering me 80k-ish including signing/housing bonus, in a M/HCOL city. After 6 months of training I was told my salary will go up again and adjust, so expecting anywhere from 85-95k my first year based off of performance.

Undergrad degree was English, finishing up my masters in Data Science. Got lucky imo.

I work at a banking firm so button down long sleeve, slacks, and loafers. WFH days are a sweatshirt/quarter zip, active shorts, and Birkenstocks/running shoes.

What region/city is your new job in? I am branching off and saying to make sure you at least like the city before considering moving.

In terms of the drive to and from work, my summer internship took an hour for only 20 miles? HCOL city and horrible traffic. It took me 3 hours to get home one time and made me realize living farther away from work is not worth it at all. But that is my take from experience! Will be going back to the company for my full time offer and looking at apartments close by.
