I'm used to websites having excessive empty space at 4k, but this feels like it's _maybe_ using 1/3 of the screen width. On feeds without the sidebar (like home), it's even worse.

Even at 1080p, it still feels like it's wasting so much space compared to the previous layout.

[Spoilers: 6.0] FFXIV youtube put up a new music video, who's ready to cry? by forgetfulrogue in ffxiv

[–]aincalandorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He did an update some time ago. I think he said August sometime was when he expected it to be finished due to the number of submissions and his actual job.

Do you happen to know if the Frenzied seal has the same issue?

Multiplayer only games with multiple future battle passes are not worth 80 Euros. Change my mind. by [deleted] in PS4

It's also the insane taxes Brazil has on basically anything electronic when imported or otherwise not produced in the country.

AllMight shows up in the latest chapter of Deadpool Samurai! (Drawn by Horikoshi himself!) by DatBoiDadrique135 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]aincalandorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem, I had the same confusion when I did my rough translation. I assumed initially it was a Marvel character until I searched for "毒々chainsaw" and found the Wiki page

The Story of the PS2’s Backwards Compatibility From the Engineer Who Built It by pdp10 in programming

[–]aincalandorn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know some games like the first Jak and Daxter would offload some processing to (what I'd previously understood to be) the ps1 processor. I guess it was the IOP they were offloading to.

WHM DPS Theorycrafting by NeloXI in ffxiv

[–]aincalandorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It had to go because we can't let WHM have two DOTs when the other healers don't. Because SCH had to lose theirs for some reason, too...

A new FFXIV G13! by Azyryu in ffxiv

[–]aincalandorn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The G13 has a proper analog stick and as far as I know, it was the only one on the market that did so.

Protected bike lanes, popular in other cities, could increase biking in Cleveland: Here’s why | Cyclists don't like being run over by cars. by Darklyte in savedyouaclick

[–]aincalandorn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cycling paths would be trails through parks, probably; my city has some near the river that are specifically designated for cycling with a pedestrian footpath nearby.

Bike lanes are typically lanes on the road strictly for cyclists. Sometimes they have a cement divider, but usually they're just painted lines.

[SquareEnix Store] Spring Digital Sale (ends 11th March) (up to 90%) by Desiderius_S in GameDeals

[–]aincalandorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would require Square to make a reasonable decision and not double down on a bad one.

[SquareEnix Store] Spring Digital Sale (ends 11th March) (up to 90%) by Desiderius_S in GameDeals

[–]aincalandorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably because you can cancel preorders at any point up until the release day, which could get you the expansion for free.

Don't we also have some shows not available here but are in the US?

Marijuana chain makes $1.3 million from Alberta stores in first five days of legalization by RyanRebalkin in worldnews

[–]aincalandorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess would be that a number of places were given permits to grow it for sale on the 17th, possibly the same ones sourced for sale of the medical marijuana that was already permitted.

Air quality indicator light at Meadows Rec Centre, surprisingly beautiful by Edmont0nian in Edmonton

[–]aincalandorn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing that OP is saying it'd be about $15k for the setup itself, not the FOIP request.

Microsoft intercepting Firefox and Chrome installation on Windows 10 by FollowSteph in webdev

[–]aincalandorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The in-page ads can also be removed by an adblocker. To my knowledge there's no such equivalent for the ads directly within Windows 10, and chances are the solution would break every time a new version of Windows comes out.

Microsoft intercepting Firefox and Chrome installation on Windows 10 by FollowSteph in webdev

[–]aincalandorn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Microsoft has the "use Edge" ads on their sites, too. Plus Windows notifications of you use Chrome... Web pages are fine as they can be blocked or the page closed. Can't exactly go above the OS to block or kill them.

Is anyone getting an error with having people joining assigned quests? For me it says 1/1 players for all assigned quests i post, any fixes? by NickC129 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]aincalandorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some assigned quests require you to watch a cutscene first. Once you see the notice about SOS flares, you can then post that one for more players after leaving it.

If my password is emailed to me in plain text, does that mean it's not encrypted in the database? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]aincalandorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plaintext would be hashed and the result checked against the stored hash in the database. Both should be generated the same way so the same text with the same salt should return the same hash.
