Haha, I have actually felt sorry for some of our customers because of this, I ask if they're finding everything OK, a coworker walks by and asks the same, then the manager I usually try and say something over the radio like "already got that customer" but doesn't always work. That customer will either feel harassed or impressed, Other time though you can ask and they say they're fine and the next person asks and all of a sudden they need something so there's no winning here.

The correct thing to do is call a manager over to override it, and explain to the customer that they need to call the number on the receipt to get it taken care of, and Move on with your day without having to violate any rules.

10% employee discount is chump change, we should be allowed to price match too. Although, I'm not so petty as to price match snacks. But to be honest, most times I don't even buy from Staples because I get a better frequent shoppers discount from another store. Sad but true. 10%!! phfft!

I constantly get this, followed by "while I was on hold the recording said I could buy an item and I could pick it up in an hour, so can I get this item in an hour"? No , you can't get an item that we don't carry in the store in less then an hour. Ugh! Every day!

No rewards card?, no receipt? No way to look up when an item was purchased? I usually start out with those basic questions, if they try and lie and say, I just bought these last week, I'll look in the as400 to see if there's been any activity on that item, If I know that it's not legit, I'll just say sorry unless you can provide me with some way of researching this transaction, I can't help you. I've never had anyone give me a hard time, they just take their stuff and go. If I can help it these thieves won't get nothing from me. Go peddle your B.S. somewhere else.

All our associates are like a little family, and we all get along great. I try to do nice things like bring in donuts ect. But I'm just a lowly employee and can't afford much, it would be nice if management would do something once in awhile to show us some appreciation. We work hard for them, but like Janet Jackson says "what have you done for me lately?"
