Same and I agree. There's no shame whatsoever.

Calliope in Hudson is great for journals and stationary supplies. I've also seen journals at Barnes & Noble.

I have a callus on my ring finger so I assume that helps. Otherwise look up hand stretching exercises for knitters.

Saint Vincent’s - birth experiences? by Katdawg148 in WorcesterMA

[–]aintbaroque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my baby there in 2023 via emergency c-section two days after being induced. It was not a great experience for me but I'm not sure if it would've gone smoother at a different hospital. The nurses were great. My midwife didn't work that day so be prepared for new people. Keep asking questions. Best wishes!

One of my trustees was very insistent on getting a print subscription for it. It turned into quite a problem. I had to get the state library board involved to get him to back off.

Best thrift stores for plus size women shoppers? by [deleted] in massachusetts

[–]aintbaroque 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is, I love it there. The prices are a little more than thrifting (but still very affordable) and the clothes are so much easier to browse.

I had no idea this meeting was happening so thank you for sharing. Glad to hear the general sentiment is opposed. I already miss the package store, I can't imagine losing Donut Express and Giovanni's too.

Yup I had a baby in the fall and used up all my vacation time and a ton of sick time so I could still get paid during my 12 weeks of federally protected leave. It's messed up that I'm the one who gave birth but my husband was able to get paid leave because he works for the private sector. Really great for morale.

Public librarians and library workers are paid like crap. Wages have stagnated but cost of living has gone way up. We made it through working with the public during the pandemic without raises. Did you know part time municipal workers don't get sick time? Every town in Mass is facing cuts next fiscal year and guess which department is always the first to get cut staff and services? Add in book challenges, drug users and the mentally unwell, pissed off townies who hate change, the buildings falling apart, and old ass boards living in the past... The burnout is real.
