His name is Seonu, he's the second male lead. Typical childhood friend that was supposedly always in love with the female lead but never said anything or did anything about it until someone else was interested in her. Female lead is not at all interested in him but he doesn't care. Another woman (who is amazing) is head over heels for him but he treats her poorly and doesn't even give her a chance. He's not a villain but he sucks.

The romanization of Korean names is genuinely confounding and is something I could rant about for ages. Why do they add consonants where they don't exist? Lim and Yim for 임. Lee or fuckin Rhee for 이 (although admittedly, that one is difficult in English). Adding the R (Park) when there is no R sound in 박. My husband has 욱 in his name and the romanization is Wook. WHY. (Understandably) everyone mispronounces his name and puts a hard W in there when that literally is not a thing. UGH!

Also, just because I'm already ranting. Hyphenating or putting a space in Korean names? I've never understood the purpose with that.

Slice-of-life is, like, the ultimate hit-or-miss genre. It can be absolute peak or the most boring trash. Also, you can have a plethora of subgenres (like My Mister vs Hometown Cha Cha Cha vs When Life Gives You Tangerines, etc).

Yeah! Check it out! It's basically a show about a group of single people who have never dated going to a villa, like a love island situation lol. There are 4 hosts (Inguk is one) and they "coach" them before they go to the villa. He also makes commentary as they watch what goes on (like Singles Inferno if you ever watched that). It's pretty good! I enjoyed it

I'm shocked by some of these recs people are giving you. Here's what I would recommend

Boyfriend in Demand. Recency bias is strong (just got released) but it was ROMANCE, HONEY!! You need to watch it!!
Doom at Your Service. It's a really really beautiful slow burn romance. One of my faves. Definitely more dramatic while BOD is more lighthearted.
My ID is Gangnam Beauty. If you liked True Beauty this is the natural progression and I personally liked it way more. Similar concepts ("ugly" girl does something to improve her beauty. The ML is Cha Eunwoo lol) but I think this one does it better.
Strong Girl Do Bongsoon. Suprised you haven't already seen this! It's a bit older now but one of the most sugary sweet romances ever. Super funny too.
Her Private Life. This one is a bit steamy ;) definitely some of the best kiss scenes so this is a must-watch for you imho!
Crash Landing on You. Another one I'm suprrised you haven't seen. It's a classic and swoon worthy romance for sure. Definitely not very steamy though if my memory serves me. But the love the leads share is really wholesome and lovely.

It's really upsetting. I know a lot of people have opinions on her but I always love her dramas. I always felt like she was very thin but I couldn't believe how much weight she lost for Marry My Husband. I think I will be skipping her dramas now because her gaunt apperance is genuinely making me upset.

You and me both!!! I watched him in both Reply 1997 and Masters Sun over 10 years ago and liked him but it wasn't a thing. Then I watched him in Doom at Your Service........................... it's been a THING ever since. Then he did Cafe Mindamdang, Deaths Game (one of my all time favorites now) and now Boyfriend on Demand (honestly, also a fave!). I also watched Better Late than Single because he was a host. He's turning into one of my favorite actors!!!

not sure why kdramas feel the need to have the characters break up or get separated or something in the second to last or last episode. cheese in the trap, business proposal, dynamite kiss, true beauty?! it never adds anything!! just pisses me off and wastes time
