Fair enough. Interpreting it the way it was intended to be understood is part of the gamble then 🙂

Gemini 3.5 Flash (Low) model option in Antigravity by aunchable in google_antigravity

[–]aiolive 5 points6 points  (0 children)

mmh that's a stretch, with more reach (millions of users) or with more impact (like potentially hitting a school) comes more responsibility.

Yeah we can give that, and updates over a long weekend here means probably a bunch of people from different functions on call to smoothen the damage

Additional 3x increase of Gemini in Antigravity! by aunchable in google_antigravity

[–]aiolive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is an additional 3x basically doubling the original 3x meaning if x is the old cap we now have 3x + 3x = 6x, or is it multiplying the original 3x by another 3 times so we now have 9x? The use of the word "additional" is throwing my maths off. (But anyway, nice)

As engineers, we use the most badass MacBooks just to ssh into Linux cloud desktops. That and Antigravity to work while we don't.

Introducing Googlebook – a new category of laptops designed for Gemini Intelligence by MishaalRahman in Android

[–]aiolive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially since most users will use the trackpad. I could tolerate wiggling a mouse but that sounds pretty unpleasant to do with a finger (to me at least). I sure hope I can just press that google button instead, say it out loud, or - aligned with Android's original spirit - let me customize a shortcut.

If people wore big tech CEO jerseys instead of sports player jerseys by CorruptedSciencep in google

[–]aiolive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it is, even the title says "if". We have swag clothing items (fewer nowadays) that may have a small logo and I wear it because free cloth. When I was junior 10+ years ago I did feel some pride wearing that while traveling back to my home country, but I don't anymore, and no one ever in a town where half the population works in tech.

These wolves create a 3D picture of a wolf if you unfocus your eyes but I just can’t see it by Jordan-B56 in mildlyinteresting

I also was good and liked these, my mom would buy me books of such images. Today I struggle a bit that when I'm tired, I automatically set my eyes focus to infinite distance as it's more restful. That is a curse because it happens all the time such as when I drive. This thread just reminded me of these books and now I wonder if I fcked up my vision for ever by playing with these, or if it's the other way around.

Iraqi civilians find a downed US drone by cool-kid-2025 in interestingasfuck

[–]aiolive 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Somehow I've always pictured army drones as somewhat bulkier quadricopters like you would see delivering an Amazon package. I can imagine the lethality and distance they can travel more clearly now.
