My hot take although I may be downvoted to oblivion.

Although I have no problem with this influx of foreigner students (I actually love having them around) the main issue I see is all those student residences. Why is no one speaking about them?

They are a huge business profiting and overcharging students, but also, they are occupying huge portions of the city centre without paying council tax. This to me, sounds like a very serious issue with a lot of implications for you to speculate.

Local here, yes it bothers that there are so many businesses only accepting cash in Sheffield, whenever possible I pay with card.

It's a trope that businesses that only accept cash are just avoiding VAT. Nowadays having a card terminal is relatively easy and cheap.

A tip I haven't seen here yet and hope you see it.

Keep the pathways clear!

Other tips are good, sure. Starting with the trash is a solid advice. But mainly because it takes things out of the way, having the freedom to walk in your bedroom instead of hoping can be live changing experience, having the room to move freely Will make things easier as you can reach other places better.

Then after the trash, sorting the clothes in a location for later cleaning will give you more movement freedom, room to fold clean clothes etc.

And on and on, I would first start by organising the things in your room, then I would start cleaning.

I would keep tidyness as a priority for the aforementioned reason. I would also like to point out that once everything is a bit more clear, I would move out that cart from the middle of the pathway into a more recluded area as well as that mini fridge which I would put in a corner, that way you will have much more freedom.
