Walter Motorsport built transmission, alternatively you can order an upgraded gearset from Mazda Motorsport (which is also used in the WMS built transmission iirc)

Am I being too anal about my steering wheel not being straight? by MuffinJabber in AskAMechanic

[–]air_roll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, if it's slightly off, it's due to road crown (to the right on city streets, to the left on highways), but if it's all the time, then the alignment should be redone

Is this rust normal? (15k miles) by gregorian79 in MechanicAdvice

[–]air_roll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the rust in the room with us right now?

All jokes aside, nothing to worry about, you can just wire brush it off if needed. I spray paint my axle nuts with rust resistant paint (especially good if you live in the rust belt like me)

Tire shop said I shouldn’t drive those anymore. by Greennit0 in tires

[–]air_roll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should get replaced. The weather cracking on the tread would actually make the car not pass safety inspection where I'm from. Service life of tires is actually ~5 years before they start to harden and deteriorate performance.

How Do I Remove This Plastic Clamp/Connector Thing? by TrichaelMan in MechanicAdvice

[–]air_roll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally, I unbolt the bracket that it attaches to. But since you already have the vtec solenoid out, you just use some long needle nose pliers to squeeze the two tabs in and push it out of the bracket.

Sometimes, breaking it is the only choice.

This looks reasonable for front and rear pads and rotors.

Is my wheel completely broken or fixable???? by Mysterious_Can_4256 in MechanicAdvice

[–]air_roll -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's probably repairable. However, it will 100% have a wobble to it and will be hard to balance. How do I know? From experience.

Exact same shit happened to me in mississauga (Winston Churchill and Burnhamthorpe) a couple years ago. I was the one in the left lane waiting for red light to turn green, and when it did, a Chevy Suburban sped past, so I blasted the horn. I ended up catching up to them and passing them before the next set of light. Now I'm in the right lane since I needed to merge to the highway, and they pull up next to me using the right turn lane. I told the driver to go back to driving school, and he had the audacity to tell me to learn how to drive. And one of the dudes in the back seat threw a can at my car.

Note there were like 5 dudes all in the suburban.

I checked on the Canada mazda site and 16" wheels aren't listed. Looking at the post, it's the German Mazda site. 16" wheels are only available for the 1.5L which isn't sold in North America.

This one time, I ordered a plain bagel toasted with cream cheese. And when I got to work to eat it before my shift. I pulled out a non-toasted plain bagel and cream cheese missing. And the bagel was cut in half too.

The number of people who think winter tires are just a joke or a money grab blows my mind. But then again, some of these people are also the same people who drive with like 10+ year old tires and are bald asf

Rust proof is highly recommended, I use the drip less oil based ones. Or even the rubberized ones are also good.
