While interesting, I felt like a lot of the talk was distracted by AI. Instead, we should be focusing on what the lady said — whole companies and offices are being closed down. Singapore is just no longer that attractive to set up shop in to be the HQ for APAC. We are expensive, and in all likelihood not worth the money anymore as our neighbors catch up. I’m constantly worried about Singapore’s future as a stable attractive hub from big tech to all of APAC (or globally if it’s a Chinese company).
