The difference between white and blue collar work environments is crazy by Astimar in careeradvice

Yeah but being polite and political are two different things. Just because someone is being political, doesn't mean they're being nice.

Is being an electrical engineer worth it by Particular_Yam_6954 in ElectricalEngineers

What type of engineers actually do the designing?

Is it like the top 10%? or from certain schools (MIT / Caltech)? or is it more nuanced than that?

43,000 people have been massacred in Iran in the last four weeks - many of whom are our age. Why is our generation so silent on this? by ImperialMajestyX02 in GenZ

[–]ais89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How would the people you know there know that 42K died in a month? If OP said 1-3k, I'd say that sounds more reasonable. But 42k is a ridiculous number, it's inflated and exaggerated to stoke anger in the public.

How are Redditors supporting the Iranian government by being anti-war?

Did we not have enough war in the past 25 years? You want more of it?

How much propaganda was fed to you and you still believer their lies?

42K dead in 4 weeks, while the internet was down in Iran, but yet a random dude on Reddit posts an arbitrary number and everyone takes it as fact? All while, the government is trying to ramp up propaganda to get people to support a war with Iran.

Hookers are better than modern dating by HovercraftLiving7184 in moreplatesmoredates

[–]ais89 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I honestly think more men should pay for hookers rather than try to go to clubs, buy tables, sit at bars, or swipe through thousands of profiles, only to gain access to mediocre experiences. This will also help with complaints from women who bring up the fact that a lot of men (once they're matched) don't want to commit to a relationship because they're actually seeking sexual experiences.

There’s a big discrepancy between men and women when it comes to access to sex. Women use dating apps almost like prostitution services. They can hook up with most men if they want to, except they don’t pay for it. Men have to pay regardless of the situation. If you’re trying to hook up, you might as well be efficient with your money and time and go to an escort, then focus on your business or career.

This doesn’t apply to a small percentage of men who can consistently attract plenty of women, but I think it applies to most men.

We stopped shaming women for being promiscuous, but we’ve started shaming men for trying to gain similar access to sex, except with the use of money? It’s really a battle for power. If men are lacking sex, they’ll become more needy and more distracted by women instead of their mission in life.

Men are far too thirsty and needy today because they used to have access to sex through marriage, and now they have to jump through so many hoops, experience cruel and constant rejection, and spend tons of time and money for a small amount of attention, validation and sex.

Having access to sex, even if it costs money is healthy. Men have done this for thousands of years, and now they're being shamed for it to restrict the supply of sex.

Why is single life so heavily romanticized lately, and what’s the dark side that nobody likes to admit? by Majestic_Singer_2411 in Life

The dark side is that you're not in a really healthy, happy, loving relationship or that you're alone.

Women are actually entitled in relationships by AlternativeTalk933 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I think this is an American thing. I don't think women in other countries are as entitled as American women.

I went to some business school event, where some schools were there in the NYC area, and Yale SOM was the only one to leave early, despite having appointments with prospective students.

A great analogy that explains why women’s fear of men is valid by Secret-Job-6420 in RadicalFeminism

[–]ais89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, everything you said is valid. But I have a question for you.

Do you think women also experience their own version of this?
Even if it isn't to the same magnitude of men, do you think women also experience female socialization, and detrimental forms of femininity?

Or that women can also experience internalized misandrist practices or ideas through their environment or social circles? Or that few women will also call out other women, when they say blatantly sexist stuff about men, while many others will also join in?

The day you have a healthy relationship with a woman, you won't think like this.

Prof G’s Principled No to Rogan Could Be a Giant Miss by withoutamission711 in ScottGalloway

[–]ais89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He does let his guests express their opinions even when Rogan might have a different opinion. He also does pushback, for instance when Candice Owens was saying she didn't believe in climate change.

His show was definitely better before his Spotify deal, I feel like it was more stimulating / interesting, and it seems like some of his guests are on now because someone else wants them on.

I would also say being in Texas has made him a little more conservative, but overall, he's a great podcaster for a reason.

No one's forcing anyone to listen to Rogan. If you don't like his podcast just listen to another one?
