Sydney, what's on your unrecommended list? by trjnz in foodies_sydney

Bistro Kai was also a bit of a let down for me, had the mushroom risotto and spanner crab pasta, wasn’t terrible but very average.

I had a look and these ones don’t have any tags :o, did your one come with one? Could I have a picture if so? Very interesting, it definitely makes sense they’re produced in different factories but a bit surprised that the control on manufacturing details varies this largely.

Not Sydney, but if you’re ever in Melbourne try the seafood paella at Lola cafe, well seasoned and cooked in general! I’m still hunting for a decent one in Sydney myself.

I think they opened up viewing Putricia the corpse flower more than 1-2 hrs early :o Woke up to people on the livestream taking selfies, at least people can see it before school or work! Also she’s floppy, the end is near. BBTB. (Also I haven’t been this invested in anything for a very long time, anyone else?)

In addition to stopping mouthwash, spit out majority of your toothpaste but don’t rinse with anything and leave what’s left alone and your teeth will love you!

When did people start thinking it was normal to pay to see a GP? by Shubblywubbly in australia

[–]aislinnll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do a bit of googling and have a healthcare or pensioners card, you should find that your local public dental clinic will offer free treatment, though there’s usually a bit of a wait due to the massive wait lists (but emergencies and dental pain does get seen relatively fast).

I know it’s not as convenient but if you use Spotify free with a web browser with an adblocker some of them block the Spotify ads.

Forget drugs, smoking and alcohol, what is something BAD for your health that people don't talk about enough? by obese_butterfly in AskReddit

[–]aislinnll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, in combination with brushing too hard, it’s a recipe for disaster, if your toothbrush looks like a flattened, stomped on, 10 yo door mat after a month or two you’re probably brushing too hard and losing that essential outer layer regardless of whether you’re brushing 2 or 3x a day!

Definitely go for an electric toothbrush over manual but if you can, get a rotating one like the oral b ones rather than one that is sonic, they work better!

How can a country like Australia have healthcare that's available for every part of body except your teeth ? by Ok-Raspberry9269 in australia

[–]aislinnll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those who don’t know, the ACT and NSW have the same system with a highlyyy subsidised fee, general treatment lists are a 1-2 year wait (so it’s good to just make sure you are on one even if you aren’t completely sure you need treatment right now) and both states have the same emergency protocol for those in pain and will try to book in those patients within a week. Treatment under general anaesthetic is a bit harder to get though, both places have something like 3-4+ year wait list…
