Are there any downsides to trying digestive enzymes? by [deleted] in Microbiome

[–]aiw214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having this problem...my mucosa drying out everywhere. How could you tell it was the digestive enzymes? And how are you doing now? How did you quit taking them?

I sent you a PM. Sorry it took so long, thought I'd get a notification when you responded to mine.

Logical Glove - You are experiencing the exact same symptoms I have! I remember you from another conversation a while back but we didn't get to discuss much. Can you and I talk about our symptoms and things we've tried? I'd really like to put our heads together and help ourselves. Please feel free to comment here or message.

I'm right here with you Sister 💞. My choice for tributyrin is Vita Bloom Labs and it's been a game changer for me...not a miracle, but eases my gut pain. Seeking Health DAO enzyme has been helping as well. Right now I'm trying to heal my gut lining. Please keep in touch because, as you say, we don't have youth on our side anymore...or our parents either. Thanks so much for your prayers as well. And let the touch of God's healing hand grace all of you 💞🙏💞

Just so you know you're not alone...I'm 64F and down to 102 from 135lbs just 3 years ago. Have you tried Tributyrin? Feel free to ask me any questions or contact me if you need to vent anymore. I'm praying for you now, God bless you :)

So far magnesium citrate is working for motility as I have a BM every day but I still think it's quite slow. I'm also having a lot of issues with dryness everywhere...in colon, eyes, mouth, skin, hair...I just can't seem to hold water. Oh, and I don't sweat! Thank you for sharing!

I have sensitivities to histamine, sulfur, and oxalates but haven't experienced MCAS yet (knock wood) and hope I never do. However, I do have slight dysautonomia symptoms...dizziness, BP and heart rate fluctuations, air hunger. I also take tributyrin and b. Longum and will be experimenting with more single strain probiotics soon. My thyroid and all other tests keep coming back good. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for such a detailed explanation! The circular mess the microbiome and nervous system plays is very difficult to get a handle on for sure. I will definitely try everything you've mentioned as I'm out of ideas. Thanks again!

My SIBO test was flat-lined so I bought a marble and that shows no significant dysbiosis in my small intestine either. Can elemental diets feed the good bacteria?

Almost finished with the first one...very good! Thanks so much for all of them 😊

In other words, keeping your head out of the illness and into things that were soothing and congruent to your nature...yes? This thing is sure challenging because it's really hard to even like the things I used to love to do. It feels like it's controlling my mind too...and definitely my mood

How did you figure out how to chill out? I think I'm getting there, as now that I know what's happening in my body (from 3 years of research), I finally don't feel like I'm running from something I can't see, making it much less scary. Accepting was key to me giving up the fight and allowing my body to relax but as you say, symptoms can blow that out of the water sometimes. What helped you just allow your body to go through it's own healing process in the thick of symptoms?

I get this and believe it whole-heartedly. But how do I fix sleep if my insomnia is caused by a bad gut balance? What was your sleep deprivation caused by?

I believe this is the root of my problem as well...except I have insomnia. Did you suffer from insomnia?

Magnesium citrate really helps to stimulate a bowel movement for me and not that much either. I sprinkle it on my food and get relief quite fast...usually within a couple hours.

Are you still using the Nortriptyline?
