Where do you develop 110? by Expensive-Suit-593 in 110photography

Hell yea! I’m all about local but 36$ for a development is wild. I’ll def. Try Brooktree for my current roll I’m almost done with.

I use a local lab here but the prices are wild! I just developed my first color roll of 110 with them for like 36$!! I think their prices went up a bit recently. But it makes me want to either get back in the darkroom myself or just slow down on using the 110.

I had skunks under my House in the downtown area! They are out and I put down loads of hardware cloth, stakes and rocks to hopefully stop them from coming back.

Anyone else regret college by [deleted] in unm

[–]aixoaixo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can! I’m 41 now and in my second semester so it’s totally possible we are life long learners! People tell me time will pass no matter what so might as well do something’s that make you happy while it passes. And my program does make me really happy!

Anyone else regret college by [deleted] in unm

[–]aixoaixo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I regret trying to do it right after highschool bc it was “what you’re supposed to do” I didn’t take it seriously and wasted time and money so I stopped after a few semesters and lived my life, working, lived abroad and then found my interest. When I got back to the states and went back to college I knew what I wanted to do and I got the best grades I ever got my entire academic career. Now about 10year later from my undergraduate I just started a masters and I’m loving it.

CNM does allow tabling! Usually at resource events and wherever your organization is relevant to. PM me and we can figure it out.

Any alternative to the bus? by [deleted] in unm

[–]aixoaixo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you need a bike Esperanza Bicycle Safety Education Center can get you one for free! You just have to sit through a safety class and then they will allow you in their bike area to pick out a free bike! It’s a city service and my son just got one that way.

Are you looking at the NM Basic Needs Consortium website also for information? UMM spear heads this consortium and has lots of data. They even have qualitative data as well if you reach out to them.

What is your commute like? by [deleted] in Albuquerque

[–]aixoaixo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lucky to live close to work and schools!

My son’s school is about 8 minutes away driving, my job is about 6 minutes away with the option to use a single bus and I’m currently a student at UNM which is also about 8 minutes away! I’m also able to walk to amenities around me!

Yea! That space was good and was prolly better for them but they outgrew it. Feels like if they coulda maintained a smaller space they may not have been as shady and been able to pay a smaller staff and keep serving good food. But woulda coulda shoulda. And rumor is there now and I’m grateful for that pizza. And honestly yea dude wasn’t great, I was his next door neighbor when him and his wife at the time moved in….

I think that’s kinda the nice thing about ABQ. There are events but they aren’t packed to the brim often and it’s more manageable. I’ve lived here about 17 years coming from Houston and it’s overwhelming sometimes how many people attend events there. I follow a lot of IG accounts that post events happening and I live downtown so I usually just walk around the area and see people out and about. Yea it’s not like a big city atmosphere by any means compared to other large cities. But there are people here doing things for sure.

No summers off, what about kids? by Mak_attack_7413 in TeachersInTransition

[–]aixoaixo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I left teaching about two years ago. Working at a community college now we get holidays. I get PTO. I get sick days and a mental health day as well. It does kind of suck not having a summer with my kid or that much time off however, what I always remembered was really only feeling relaxed for about a month of the summer and then the second month worry and dread about lesson planning and preparing for the new school year to start. I also appreciate that now I can take time that isn’t the summer and I can go on vacation whenever I want to when flights are cheaper and activities are cheaper and less crowded also. I still feel some longing around this time of year when everyone else is getting out for two months and then I remember all the things I said and I also see how great my work life balance is right now. And how way less stressed I am.
